The episode starts with Ishana revealing to Kusum that Kapil slapped Adit in front of everyone. A shocked Sowmya asks if Adit went to Mangal’s engagement. Ishana calls Kapil evil. Sowmya tells Kusum that Mangal got Adit insulted in front of his colleagues.
Mangal tells Kapil that while Adit’s behavior at the engagement was wrong, he too made a mistake by raising his hand on Adit in front of Ishana. She reminds him that Ishana loves her father and that he didn’t do the right thing. Kapil admits his mistake and apologizes. He says, “I tried to control myself, but I couldn’t when Adit insulted you and my mom.” Mangal agrees that Adit was wrong, but says he was not in his senses—whereas Kapil was. Kapil folds his hands and says, “Please forgive me. I just couldn’t tolerate my mom being insulted. Try to understand my emotions.” Mangal says she understands. She admits she agreed to the marriage for her mother’s sake, but Shanti didn’t allow her to reveal it.
Meanwhile, Sowmya tries to provoke Kusum by saying that Mangal is treating Adit badly and she can’t tolerate it anymore. In a shocking move, she gives Kusum a knife and asks her to kill Adit to free him from this insult-filled life. Kusum is stunned and drops the knife, asking what she is saying. Sowmya claims that Mangal has vowed to ruin Adit and says she can’t watch him suffer anymore. Kusum is left confused and shaken. Sowmya thinks to herself, “Now I’ve turned Kusum against Mangal. She will never forgive her.”
Shanti asks Mangal and Kapil what’s going on. Kapil replies that Mangal is planning to go to Adit’s house, and he offered to take her. Kapil gets a call and steps aside to answer it. Shanti tells Mangal, “You now belong to Kapil’s family. Don’t go to Adit’s house. Don’t forget how Adit insulted you, Kapil, and Pratima.” Mangal says, “I’m not married yet, so I can’t stay here either. Lipika said our house will be ready tomorrow, so let’s shift there.” Shanti agrees but insists she not go to Adit’s house.
The next day, Kusum gets a call from Shanti. Shanti informs her that Mangal is coming to collect her belongings and tells her not to stop her. Kusum accuses them of letting Kapil hit Adit. Shanti explains that Kapil is a good person and that’s why he and Pratima didn’t file a police complaint. She reveals how Adit came drunk and humiliated Kapil and his mother at the engagement. She says Mangal wants to move on, but Adit won’t let her. Shanti firmly asks Kusum not to play emotional games to stop Mangal and ends the call. Kusum is left stunned.
Adit wakes up with a hangover. Kusum throws water on his face and demands to know where he went and what he did. Adit, in pain, tells her to leave him alone. She makes him swear on her and confess what happened. Sowmya tries to intervene, but Kusum insists. Adit finally confesses. Kusum raises her hand but stops. She says, “Kapil slapped you just once. If I had been there, I would have slapped you many times.” She scolds him for his shameless act. Adit says he wasn’t in his senses. Kusum demands that he apologize to Mangal and her family. Adit and Sowmya refuse. Kusum tells Sowmya not to interfere and again asks Adit to apologize. He refuses and leaves.
Just then, the doorbell rings. Kusum opens the door and sees Mangal and Kapil. Mangal hides her engagement ring. Kusum asks if she came to collect her belongings, and Mangal nods. Kusum allows her in. Adit, dressed for work, comes out and sees Mangal and Kapil. He recalls Kusum’s words and walks toward Mangal.
