Indeed, Bollywood stars can pick pretty much any hobby they want, with salaries that easily go above tens of millions of rupees per movie. That’s why we see so many of them enjoying casino games, sports betting, and fun options like the simulated reality league pakistan super league. Meanwhile, some actors prefer to join the rapidly growing gamer community in the country.

Meet eight Bollywood stars who are also amazing on other screens.

Shah Rukh Khan

Shah has an entire floor in his house dedicated to video games. Let’s be clear here: “Mannat,” his bungalow, is a palace fit for his nickname: The King. His two sons, AbRam and Aryan, are also enthusiastic gamers; no wonder why. The star also believes that video games strengthen the bond between the two brothers. In his own words: “Brothers who play together, I guess, stay together.”

John Abraham

You might remember John Abraham from his role in Pathaan, but he’s also a pro at PUBG. The actor’s face is also on the game “John Abraham: Drag Racer,” which is available for mobile devices. If you, like Abraham, love bikes at top speed, you should definitely try it. Abraham defined the game in a tweet as something “very close to my heart.”

Arshad Warsi

Similarly to Abraham, Arshad Warsi is a huge fan of PUBG. On a few occasions, he showed his skills as a gamer, like when he live-streamed one of his squad games, delivering an impressive performance. The charismatic comedian is famous for his remarkable participation in movies like Jolley LLB and Munna Bhai MMBS, and he also co-starred in Goal with John Abraham.

Abhishek Bachchan

Abhishek Bachchan loves playing video games, but we probably wouldn’t know about it if it wasn’t for Bachchan’s father, Amitabh Bachchan. The actor’s father revealed in an interview that Bachchan spends hours playing PS4 with his son.

In fact, the love for video games runs in the family: Bachchan Junior leads his own sports team. Abhishek Bachchan also shares his passion for PS4 with Shah Rukh Khan and even jokes about Shah’s playing habits: “These people aren’t interested in work.”

Varun Dhawan

Varun Dhawan has been a fan of games since the first game the actor played was Super Mario Bros. Nowadays, he seems to be more interested in games like Grand Theft Auto and FIFA. It means we’re not likely to see him in professional competitions. Indeed, Dhawan is a geek at heart, and according to his friends and relatives, he could talk about geek culture for an entire day.

Tiger Shroff

Tiger Shroff is a professional Call of Duty gamer who claims that several of his acting stunts are inspired by the game. Arguably one of the most famous Call of Duty players in India, Tiger Shroff also enjoys the mobile version of the game and occasionally surprises his fans with his appearances. According to the actor, playing mobile Call of Duty is his new “me time.”

Boman Irani

When the PS5 came out, Boman Irani was one of the first Bollywood stars to share his purchase on social media in partnership with Games The Stop. Previously, he was one of the main faces of an HP marketing campaign, questioning stereotypes in the gaming community. You might also remember Boman Irani from “The Three Idiots.”

Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar isn’t only an avid gamer but also an engaged member of the Indian gaming community. He’s also the name behind the action war game Fearless and United (FAU-G), which launched in September 2020. The game is a homegrown alternative to PUBG, scoring a record number of pre-registrations on Google Play Store. Akshay Kumar has been a famous face in the gaming community for a while, at least since he became an ambassador for the Xbox 360.

Final Cut

The passion for games can be translated into numbers. Last year, the Indian gaming industry crossed the USD 3 billion mark, with projected growth until 2028. People have been playing video games much before celebrity gamers came by. Still, they’re vital in this community.
