The episode starts with Mangal telling Kusum that no one will speak today and declares that she will be the one to question Adit. Mangal confronts Adit, and when Kusum tries to speak, Sudesh stops her, saying that today, only Mangal will speak. Mangal tells Adit that she knows he doesn’t like someone like her, an uneducated person, and comments on it. She adds that she is a person who lives with honesty, but her honesty should not be mistaken for stupidity. Mangal expresses that even though Adit may not like her, she always thought he would respect their marriage, but he has destroyed it. She demands to know why Adit betrayed her.
Kusum urges Adit to speak and deny Mangal’s accusations, asking if the divorce papers are fake. Mangal interjects, asking Kusum how Adit could deny it, as he has not only betrayed her but also betrayed them. Mangal reveals that she saw Adit taking pheras (wedding vows) with Sowmya, and then collapses on the spot. Lakshmi catches Mangal, while Kusum questions Adit, asking if what Mangal said is true.
Akshat arrives and asks Mangal if she is fighting with Adit. Mangal dismisses it, saying there’s nothing like that, and she and Lakshmi take Akshat to his room.
Kusum again questions Adit if what Mangal said is true, and Adit confirms it. Sudesh collapses onto the sofa, and Kusum raises her hand to slap Adit but stops herself.
Lakshmi apologizes to Mangal, admitting that she knew about Adit wanting a divorce since the day Mangal had her accident. She says she tried to tell Mangal through signals but failed. Hearing the argument, Mangal turns up the music so Akshat won’t overhear.
Sudesh questions Kusum about why she stopped her hand, reminding her of what Adit just admitted. Kusum responds that she hates to even touch him now.
Kusum tells Adit how she had been explaining to Mangal that he had changed. Karthik questions how Adit could think of betraying Mangal. Adit asks Karthik to stay out of it, saying this is a family matter. Kusum disagrees, pointing out that Karthik has always stood by them in times of trouble, making him part of the family.
Adit attempts to talk to his mother, but Kusum stops him, forbidding him from calling her “mom.” She says Adit has no idea how much Mangal is hurt. Adit, in frustration, asks his parents to stop talking about Mangal and think of him for once. He reminds them how he repeatedly refused the marriage back then, but they assured him everything would be fine. Adit admits he never liked Mangal and has been trying to sustain the marriage for 15 years, suffering throughout.
Sudesh asks Adit what he doesn’t like about Mangal. Adit responds, asking if Sudesh truly believes Mangal deserves to be his wife. He claims he is educated and sophisticated, while Mangal doesn’t even know how to dress properly. Adit, kneeling, begs Kusum not to take away his chance at happiness now that he finally has one.
Meanwhile, Akshat asks Mangal if she is going to leave Adit, expressing his fear after seeing his friend’s parents separate. He pleads with Mangal to stay with him. When he sees Mangal crying, Lakshmi explains that she hasn’t eaten anything since morning because it’s Karwa Chauth. Akshat offers his chocolates to Mangal. She hugs him and leaves. Lakshmi then tells Akshat to let Mangal rest and go to sleep.
Later, Lakshmi steps out and asks Kusum where Mangal is. Lakshmi recounts what happened in the room, and Karthik notices the main door is open, causing everyone to worry that Mangal has left the house.
