The episode opens with Mangal telling Kusum that while the divorce papers may be fake, Adit’s signature on them is genuine. She expresses her belief that Adit betrayed her long ago, claiming he only pretended to be her husband out of fear of Kusum. Mangal then tells Sudesh that it’s time for him to take his medicine and goes to fetch it.
Meanwhile, Lakshmi notices that Akshat has drawn a family picture featuring Adit and his entire family. Ishana suggests they need to intervene, as Akshat is solely focused on his dad. Lakshmi then hatches a plan and leaves the scene.
Karthik and Lakshmi bring Adit’s family to the hotel, where the waiter leads them to a table set for two, intended for a romantic date. Karthik insists they requested a table for seven, and the waiter apologizes, taking them to a larger table. Karthik encourages Akshat to order whatever he wants, and Akshat happily agrees.
Adit and Sowmya arrive at the same hotel and sit at the romantic table Sowmya reserved, hoping to spend some quality time together. After Sowmya goes to the washroom, Akshat spots Adit and excitedly informs Mangal of his presence. He rushes over to Adit, expressing how much he missed him and urging him to join the family table, leaving Adit no choice but to comply.
Upon returning, Sowmya realizes Adit is missing and notices Lakshmi is aware of Adit’s presence with Sowmya. Concerned about a potential confrontation, Lakshmi approaches Sowmya and makes a pointed comment about Adit and Mangal being a true family.
Akshat, wanting a photo of Adit and Mangal together, asks Adit to place his hand on Mangal’s shoulder. Adit obliges, which infuriates Sowmya, prompting her to head towards Mangal’s table. Lakshmi intervenes, arguing with Sowmya and insisting she shouldn’t approach them. Ishana, sensing tension, excuses herself and eventually Mangal also leaves.
Mangal confronts Sowmya, advising her not to create a scene in front of her in-laws and suggests she will send Adit over to her. Sowmya questions Mangal’s intentions, but Mangal simply makes a dismissive comment and departs.
Later, as the waiter brings the bill to Mangal’s table, Adit reaches for it, but Mangal snatches it away and pays. Adit then concocts an excuse to leave with Akshat.
The following day, Kusum asks Mangal about her concerns. Mangal admits she’s worried about how to explain Adit’s actions to Akshat, who may question her. Kusum reassures her, saying kids today are like water, adaptable and quick to forget. As Akshat prepares for school, he does so independently.
Adit tells Sowmya that the coffee has gone cold, but she insists on reheating it. He brushes off her offer and begins discussing Mangal with her.
Mangal drops Akshat at school, but after she leaves, he sneaks out, not wanting to stay.
