The episode begins with Akshat eating a packet of chips. Mangal tells him that it’s not good to eat packaged food. Akshat replies that he eats them every day. Mangal offers to make homemade chips for him instead, asking him to stop eating packaged ones. Ishana silently leaves the room, while Adit watches the interaction. Mangal takes the chips packet away and asks Akshat to do his homework. Akshat says he’ll finish it in two minutes and takes out his iPad to use AI for completing it. Mangal disapproves, telling him it’s important to use his brain. Akshat says there’s no one at home to help him. Mangal explains that if he depends on AI, he won’t be able to write his exams properly, and offers to help him if he does it himself. Akshat agrees and goes to his room.
Later, Kapil comes for dinner. Pratima tells him that it’s already late and Mangal hasn’t returned. They try calling her, but her phone is unreachable. Pratima says since Mangal is staying with them, it’s their responsibility to ensure her safety, and asks Kapil to bring her home. He agrees.
Kapil arrives at Adit’s house. Mangal welcomes him and notices his injury, thanking him for helping her earlier. Kapil jokingly calls her a “one-woman army” who doesn’t need any help. Mangal smiles and asks why he came so late. Kapil explains that his mother was worried since Mangal didn’t return for dinner and her phone was not reachable. Mangal apologizes, saying she forgot to inform them. When Kapil asks if they can leave, she tells him that she has decided to stay there for some time to take care of the kids. Kapil understands. She also mentions working from home until Ishana recovers. Kapil agrees and leaves. On his way out, he sees Adit but doesn’t say anything.
At midnight, Ishana gets ready to leave for a party. Mangal stops her and asks where she’s going at that hour. Ishana rudely asks who Mangal is to stop her. Mangal tries to explain that it’s not safe to go out so late. Ishana ignores her and tries to leave. Mangal questions her about the friends she’s been meeting. Ishana snaps back, saying she doesn’t owe her any answers. Mangal locks her inside the room. Sowmya sees everything from a distance. Ishana, worried that her father and grandmother will find out she sneaks out at night, stays quiet. Sowmya decides to use this situation against Mangal and plans to oust her from the house.
The next morning, Mangal sees Kusum eating biscuits and tea alone. She goes to the kitchen and learns from Kamala that the kids eat packaged food for breakfast, Adit eats toast, and Sowmya skips breakfast and eats only lunch. Mangal recalls how the family once used to enjoy breakfast together at the dining table. Sowmya enters and tells Mangal not to interfere in kitchen matters, adding that Akshat loves pancakes and should eat what he wants. Mangal calmly responds that fresh food is healthier, and she will prepare breakfast for the children—no one can stop her.
Later, Mangal makes pancakes for Akshat and Kapil. She writes a note for Akshat asking him to eat the pancakes she made especially for him.
Mangal then goes to Akshat and gives him his lunch, saying she made it for him. Akshat happily agrees to take it. Mangal then asks Adit to give Kapil his lunchbox. Adit refuses. So, Mangal decides to deliver it herself. As she leaves, Adit hears the school bus horn and, in a rush, mistakenly gives Kapil’s lunchbox to Akshat and takes Akshat’s lunchbox instead.
Later, Mangal visits Ishana’s room and advises her to rest. Ishana says she wants to go meet her friends. Mangal reminds her that she’s still sick and should wait until she recovers. She offers Ishana turmeric milk. Ishana coldly responds that if Mangal really cared about her, she wouldn’t have left them in the first place, and taunts her.
