The episode begins with Kapil telling Pratima that he has invited Akshat and Ishana for dinner, and Ishana has accepted the invitation. Pratima is surprised to hear this. Kapil shares that he has decided to convert the guest room into a kids’ room. He also mentions his plan to build a walk-in wardrobe for Ishana, believing she would like it. He shows Pratima some designs and asks for her opinion.
Pratima questions Kapil about not informing her before inviting them. Kapil admits that he feels guilty for slapping Adit in front of them, so he’s trying to make amends and be a friend to Ishana. At that moment, Adit enters and hands a file to Kapil before leaving.
Pratima tells Kapil that he is trying to do a lot for Adit’s kids, but reminds him that no matter what he does, he can never take Adit’s place.
Meanwhile, Adit questions Ishana about why she has come there. Ishana casually replies that she just came to print some documents and makes a sarcastic comment.
Later, Ishana enters Kapil’s office and overhears Pratima telling Kapil that despite all his efforts, he will never be able to take Adit’s place. She warns him not to take responsibility for Mangal’s kids. Kapil agrees, saying he knows they’re not his children and that they should focus on the wedding first, and then think about what to do regarding the kids. Ishana secretly records this conversation, planning to use it against him.
Back at home, Akshat shows Ishana a drawing of their family with Kapil and Mangal. When Mangal arrives, Ishana questions Akshat about including Kapil in the role of their father. She claims that Kapil is pretending to be nice and never intended to accept them, and that she overheard him saying they would be separated from their mother. Mangal is shocked and asks Ishana for clarification. Akshat, tearful, hugs Mangal. She sends him away, assuring him that Ishana has misunderstood and she’ll handle it.
Mangal asks Ishana to explain. Ishana says they will be separated after the wedding. Mangal asks why she believes that. Ishana plays the voice recording. She tells Mangal they cannot live without her, and that Kapil said those words to his mother. Mangal assures her that she won’t let anyone separate them. Holding back tears, she walks away.
Meanwhile, Ishana dances joyfully. Adit arrives and notices her happiness. She hugs him and calls him the best, thinking that today Kapil will be taught a lesson for slapping her mother.
Kapil is on a call with an interior designer when Mangal walks in. He asks her to help choose the design. Mangal confronts him, saying that if he doesn’t accept her children, then he can’t truly care for her. She says she believed he understood how important her children are to her, and questions how he could think of separating them.
Kapil asks why she thinks he doesn’t accept her children. Mangal plays the voice recording. Kapil asks how she got it, and Mangal replies that Ishana overheard his conversation with Pratima. She says he doesn’t understand how Ishana must have felt. Kapil insists he didn’t mean what the recording suggests. Mangal asks how he could think she would abandon her kids after marriage. Kapil says she’s misunderstanding and that it’s unfair to judge him based on a small clip. Mangal says she thought he was different. She asks if it’s his voice. When he confirms, she says she doesn’t want to hear anything more and ends things, saying it’s better if they don’t marry. She leaves.
Later, Mangal calls Ishana, who pretends to be asleep and hides her phone. Mangal enters with food and asks her to eat, noting she hadn’t eaten earlier. Ishana says she’s not in the mood. Mangal urges her to eat. Ishana apologizes for telling the truth and asks Mangal not to talk to Kapil about it. Mangal reassures her, saying she will never leave her kids. She tells Ishana not to worry and to focus on her studies. She feeds Ishana and reminds her that tomorrow is her birthday. She asks how she wants to celebrate and what gift she wants. Ishana says she doesn’t want anything. Mangal suggests throwing a party at home and inviting her friends. Ishana hugs her and thinks to herself, “My plan worked.”
