The episode starts with Lakshmi convincing Karthik’s family to attend Jia’s funeral. They finally agree and go to the ceremony. Lakshmi secretly collects a portion of Jia’s ashes. She tells Prema that they are attending the funeral purely out of humanity. Prema remarks that Karthik will be punished in court tomorrow. Gayatri gets upset overhearing this.
Lakshmi takes the ashes to a doctor and requests him to verify whether they truly belong to Jia. The doctor, a fan of Karthik because of his daughter, agrees to help. He asks for a personal item to match the DNA. Lakshmi hands him Jia’s hairbrush.
Meanwhile, at the jail, a police officer tells Karthik that he’ll be taken to court today but will return to die in the same prison. Karthik remains hopeful, thinking Lakshmi will save him. Lakshmi prays for a miracle. The doctor later calls her and informs that the report will take some time. Lakshmi urges him to speed it up before the court hearing ends.
At the court, media personnel ask Prema about her expectations. Prema states that she wants Karthik to be sentenced to death and vows not to immerse Jia’s ashes until then.
Karthik is brought to the court. Lakshmi sees him and calls his name. They share an emotional moment. The police escort Karthik inside.
Inside the courtroom, the staff calls for Karthik’s lawyer. Umesh tries to reach the lawyer, but his calls go unanswered. Meanwhile, Lakshmi receives a call from the doctor. The police ask her to keep the phone on silent, so she steps out to answer.
The doctor informs Lakshmi that her suspicion was correct—the ashes do not belong to Jia but to an animal. Lakshmi requests him to come to court and testify in Karthik’s favor. The doctor agrees and sets out.
Lakshmi returns to the courtroom and asks about the lawyer. Umesh says the lawyer is still unreachable. The judge inquires about their legal representation. The public prosecutor tells the judge that Karthik’s family has no lawyer and is wasting the court’s time. He insists this is an open-and-shut case, claiming Karthik killed Jia and multiple witnesses support it.
Lakshmi pleads with the judge for some time to arrange a lawyer. The judge grants a break until after lunch and warns that if no lawyer is present by then, he will announce the judgment.
Sudesh worries about the unresponsive lawyer. Gayatri recalls a similar past situation. Prema smirks, thinking no lawyer will take the case because of her threats.
Lakshmi anxiously asks what will happen if they fail to get a lawyer. Prema approaches her and taunts her to remove her sindoor, saying Karthik will receive the death penalty today. She tries to wipe it off, but Lakshmi stops her, fiercely declaring that Karthik will win the case. Gayatri walks away silently.
