The episode begins with Mangal trying to remove a stain from her dress. Shanti approaches her, and Mangal says the stain isn’t coming off. Shanti then shows Mangal a red saree and urges her to wear it, saying Kapil bought it especially for her. Surprised, Mangal asks how she knows this. Shanti explains that the saree had fallen out of Kapil’s cupboard. Mangal hesitates, suggesting it might belong to someone else—perhaps even Pratima. But Shanti insists that Kapil would never buy a red bridal saree for Pratima and is confident it was meant for Mangal. She encourages Mangal to wear it and surprise Kapil. Reluctantly, Mangal agrees.
Meanwhile, Kusum tells Sudesh that Sowmya is planning to take Adit to Mumbai. She worries that if Adit leaves, he won’t be able to stop Mangal and Kapil’s wedding. Sudesh asks what they should do, and Kusum says they must ensure Adit stays.
Kusum prays to God, asking for help in reuniting Adit and Mangal. She believes Adit is realizing his mistakes and pleads for another chance for him, reminding God that Adit and Mangal share a child.
Elsewhere, Pratima notices Kapil looking stressed and asks him what’s wrong. Kapil avoids the conversation and leaves, saying he doesn’t want to talk about the past.
Later, Kapil enters his room and finds Mangal wearing the red saree. He’s shocked and flashes back to memories from his past. When he asks Mangal where she got the saree, she says Shanti gave it to her and she assumed it was for her. Pratima and Shanti witness the moment. Kapil tells Mangal she shouldn’t have worn the saree and abruptly walks away. Pratima then advises Mangal to wear any saree except that one and leaves.
Pratima brings Kapil some water and tries to console him. She says Mangal had no idea the saree belonged to “that girl.” Kapil explains that the saree isn’t just clothing—it holds emotional weight from his past. He adds that this is the first time Mangal expressed a sense of belonging to him, and yet he ended up hurting her. He fears his past will ruin his present. Pratima reassures him but Kapil shares that the woman from his past called again, and all these events—Mangal wearing the saree, the call—happened on the same day. Kapil decides he must tell Mangal the truth. Pratima objects, but Mangal walks in.
Kapil apologizes to Mangal and tries to open up, but Pratima quickly interrupts and fabricates a story—that the saree belonged to Kapil’s late father, who died the next day, making it emotionally sensitive. Mangal apologizes and promises to change. Shanti, watching from a distance, praises their bond and walks away. Mangal also leaves, and Pratima pulls Kapil aside.
Kapil confronts Pratima about stopping him from telling the truth. Pratima argues that Mangal is his present and shouldn’t be burdened by his past. Kapil insists he will only marry Mangal once she accepts his history. But Pratima makes him swear on her that he won’t reveal anything to Mangal.

Precap: Kapil is seen arguing with a woman on the road. Adit notices them and gets out of the car to investigate. Kapil tells the woman he’s about to get married and start afresh, and asks her not to call him again. The woman defiantly responds, “If I don’t call you, then who will?”
