The episode starts with Lakshmi asking Karthik what will happen to their dream of having children if something happens to her. Karthik angrily tells her not to talk like that. Lakshmi apologizes and says not to worry as she is fine and with him. Meanwhile, Gayatri consoles Umesh not to cry. Umesh says he feels bad for Lakshmi, but Gayatri replies that she feels bad for Karthik and their family, as Lakshmi cannot give an heir. Umesh questions how she can speak this way without understanding Lakshmi’s pain.
Karthik asks Lakshmi to rest. Lakshmi hugs him and says she wants to recover soon so they can plan for a baby. Karthik leaves to bring her soup. Lakshmi wonders why he is avoiding the baby topic. Gayatri, meanwhile, asks Umesh to stop praising Lakshmi and leaves. Karthik angrily plays his guitar, haunted by the doctor’s words that Lakshmi can never conceive. Gayatri stops him, asking him not to hurt himself.
Lakshmi comes out of her room and asks Nidhi about Karthik. Though Nidhi asks her to rest, Lakshmi refuses and learns that Karthik is on the terrace. Gayatri tries to blame Lakshmi for Karthik’s distress. But Karthik lashes out at her, saying it was because of her that Lakshmi is in this condition—since she invited the baba, leading to all this misery. He warns Gayatri never to bring up the topic again or tell Lakshmi about her infertility.
Sanjana overhears and taunts Gayatri, saying she has been punished for her sins, and now Lakshmi cannot give an heir to the family. Gayatri rebukes her and asks her to move aside. Sanjana threatens to push her, but Gayatri retorts that her heir will come, no matter what. Sanjana warns her that Karthik will never agree to a second marriage.
Lakshmi later learns from Umesh that Karthik is in his room. She goes there but finds him pretending to be asleep, leaving her confused about his behavior.
The next day, Lakshmi prepares breakfast. Karthik scolds her for not resting, but Lakshmi says she made it for him. He takes her to their room, where they find the room decorated with baby toys and pictures. Lakshmi feels happy and thanks Karthik, but he denies doing it. Just then, Sanjana enters and reveals that she decorated the room as a surprise. Lakshmi thanks her, but Sanjana goes on to say they should have a baby soon so everyone can play with the child. Karthik, angered, shouts at her to stop interfering. He pushes down the photo stand and storms off. Lakshmi, shocked, asks why he hurt Sanjana bua and whether something has happened. Karthik avoids her and leaves, making Lakshmi determined to find out what he is hiding.

Precap: Lakshmi tells Karthik that she can never become a mother and that their dream of parenthood will remain unfulfilled. Karthik assures her that she is more important to him than anything else. He says her dream of motherhood is showing them a new path, and Lakshmi promises that one day they will surely fulfill their dream.
