The episode starts with Karan getting angry at Lakshmi for breaking his speaker. Lakshmi apologizes and says she will get it repaired, asking him to deduct the cost of speaker from her salary for a few months. Karan scolds her to stay within her limits and orders her to meet him in his office.
In the office, Lakshmi tells Karan that she will get his speaker repaired as she knows a good technician. Karan taunts her, saying, “This speaker came from Canada; you don’t have the auqat to afford it. It’s a limited edition.” Lakshmi retorts, “Don’t talk about auqat. You can cut my one-year salary if you want.” She turns to leave but finds the door locked and asks him to open it. Karan rebukes her harshly.
Karan then tells Lakshmi to work harder to repay the cost of his music system and orders her to leave his office immediately.
Meanwhile, Gayatri worries about Karthik and says, “Where are you, Karthik? We miss you so much.” She calls him, and Karthik answers. Gayatri pleads with him to come home, saying, “Don’t punish us for Lakshmi’s mistake. Please forget her and return.” Karthik coldly says, “I’ve already forgotten her.” Gayatri adds that his father’s health is not good and requests him to come back. Karthik agrees.
At the office, Shankar brings tea to Lakshmi and asks why she’s working alone when everyone else is at the party. Lakshmi tells him not to worry and sends him away. Later, realizing it’s quite late, she leaves for home. When she fails to find an auto, she starts walking. A group of eve-teasers troubles her, and Lakshmi runs to escape. Suddenly, a car door opens, and someone pulls her inside. It turns out to be Karan. He says, “I saved you for the second time. What were you doing out so late?” Lakshmi replies, “I was working late to repay your debt, and you acted like a kidnapper while helping me.” Karan asks the driver to stop the car and tells her to get out. Lakshmi says she can manage on her own and walks away.
The next day, Lakshmi gets ready for Karwa Chauth and fills her hair parting with sindoor, recalling her moments with Karthik. Looking at his photo, she prays for his long life. When Swathi enters, Lakshmi quickly hides her sindoor with her hair. Lakshmi observes Karwa Chauth fast for Karthik. Meanwhile, Karthik tells Sudesh that he’s coming home and will take his father to Chandigarh for treatment. Seeing a husband placing flowers in his wife’s hair, Karthik recalls Lakshmi’s betrayal and shuts the door in pain.
Later, Lakshmi arrives at the office and learns from Shankar that Karan is conducting auditions for singers and writers. Karan gets disappointed with the candidates. One contestant looks nervous, and Lakshmi encourages her, helping her complete the lyrics. Karan observes this through the mirror. The contestant thanks Lakshmi for her support. Karan comes out and calls Lakshmi to his cabin.
