The episode starts with Mangal going to Sunita and telling her that her son is fine now and has stopped crying. She gives Neel’s phone to her and says, “I’m a mother too, and I understand your pain.” Mangal adds that she has already paid the hospital fee, so Sunita doesn’t need to worry. Just then, Ishana video calls Mangal and asks where she is. Mangal replies that she’s on her way home and will explain everything once she reaches. After ending the call, Mangal tells Sunita that her kids are waiting for her, so she must leave, and asks Sunita to take care of herself and her son. She leaves. Sunita breaks down in tears, regretting her decision to exchange Neel and Ishana sixteen years ago.
Later, Adit scolds Mangal for being irresponsible and questions why she didn’t answer his calls. He taunts her, saying Kapil is no longer supporting her, so she should be cautious. Adit asks what would have happened if he hadn’t arrived in time to put out the fire. Mangal explains that a child playfully threw a pataka ki ladi (string of crackers), which caused the fire. Adit accuses her of risking their children’s lives for her business. Ishana defends her mother, saying it was just a kids’ prank. Mangal agrees and adds that she went out to catch the boy. Adit rebukes her, saying, “You can’t do anything, Mangal. I realized that today.”
The house owner arrives, sees the state of the dhaba, and questions Mangal about the fire. Mangal says it happened because of the crackers but assures her that she’ll repair everything and is relieved that nothing major happened. The owner asks what if something worse had occurred. Adit angrily tells her she’s always on time to collect rent but hasn’t provided basic safety measures like a fire extinguisher. He accuses her of not helping during the incident. Mangal tries to calm him, saying she will handle it. The house owner points out that Mangal hasn’t paid the rent for this month, yet the fire still happened despite safety precautions. Mangal apologizes on Adit’s behalf and promises to pay on time. The owner, understanding her struggle, says she’ll cancel this month’s rent and appreciates Mangal’s hard work. Shanti and the kids feel happy. The owner adds that she wouldn’t do this if Mangal were still with Adit, but since she’s raising her children alone, she respects her.
Shanti rebukes Adit, saying her daughter has earned respect unlike him. Adit insists the boy who caused the fire should be punished and says he feels like calling the police. Mangal stops him and pleads to give Neel another chance since he’s just a child like Ishana. Adit says he doesn’t understand why she’s defending him and reminds her that she’s not Neel’s mother. Mangal replies, “I’m a mother, and I can understand.” She explains that she tried to confront Neel, but he met with an accident, so she took him to the hospital, which is why she came home late.
Akshat eats a sweet. Adit says he’s getting late and starts to leave but gets a call and steps aside. Shanti advises Mangal not to give Neel so many chances. Mangal says they should forgive him for his mother’s sake. Suddenly, Akshat feels pain.
Meanwhile, Sowmya asks Kusum if she asked Adit whether the kids liked her laddoos. Kusum video calls Adit and asks about it. Akshat starts crying in pain. Kusum asks Adit to let her talk to the kids. Adit gives the phone to Ishana. While Ishana talks to Kusum, Mangal notices Akshat crying and asks what happened. Akshat says, “I ate Dadi’s laddoos, and now my stomach hurts.” Adit and Kusum overhear this. Adit rushes to Akshat as Kusum ends the call. Sowmya wonders why Akshat reacted that way when he’s been eating Kusum’s laddoos since childhood. Mangal tells Akshat not to cry and says she’ll prepare kadha for him, insisting it might not be because of the sweets. Adit tells Mangal to stay home and prepare laddoos, not to go anywhere else. He asks Akshat to rest.
Later, Shanti cuts vegetables in candlelight. Mangal tries to wake Akshat up, telling him it’s not time to sleep. Someone secretly watches Ishana practicing dance. Mangal notices a shadow and asks who’s there. The masked person tries to escape before Mangal can catch her.
