The episode starts with Dadi asking Karan and Lakshmi to perform the ritual. She sees Karthik leaving and stops him, saying that he’s part of the family and must participate in the ritual. Karan adds that since Karthik is soon going to be the family’s son-in-law, he must be present. Karthik stays back. Dadi then asks Karan and Lakshmi to begin the ritual. She asks Barkha to place the ring in the vessel to start it. Barkha refuses, saying everyone has forgotten about her and Karthik’s marriage. Dadi explains that she consulted the Pandit, who suggested a date for next month, and since there’s plenty of time, they can now celebrate Karan and Lakshmi’s wedding. She again asks Barkha to place the ring in the vessel. Barkha refuses, but Karan asks her to be happy for her brother’s happiness. He tells both Karthik and Barkha to place the ring in the vessel. They do so. Karan tightly holds Lakshmi’s hand as they start searching for the ring in the water. Lakshmi finds the ring, but Karan takes it. Karan says he is lucky to have Lakshmi. Karthik indirectly comments on Lakshmi, and she leaves from there.
In the kitchen, Karthik approaches Lakshmi and sarcastically praises her rise—from a tailor to the wife of her boss. He says she came to a new place and quickly formed ties with high-class people, becoming Karan’s wife. Lakshmi gets teary-eyed but says nothing and turns to leave. Karthik stops her and applies turmeric paste to her hand. Karan witnesses this and leaves silently. Karthik insists Lakshmi answer his questions.
Lakshmi tries to walk away again, but Karthik blocks her path and demands answers. Lakshmi says she doesn’t owe him any explanation and asks him to leave. Karthik reminds her that they share a relationship and mocks her for marrying his would-be brother-in-law. He says he can’t be like her—someone who leaves people behind. Lakshmi firmly tells him she doesn’t need to justify herself and leaves. Karthik receives a call and agrees to go somewhere immediately.
When Lakshmi enters the room, Karan throws chandan over her. She asks him what he’s doing. Karan accuses her of spending time with Karthik and warns her to stay away from him. Lakshmi pushes down Karan’s pointing finger and tells him to keep both his arrogance and his finger to himself. She reminds him that he was the one who needed her and even blackmailed her using Mukesh’s name. She wipes her face with a towel, throws it at his feet, and walks away. Karan vows to teach Lakshmi a lesson for disrespecting him.
Meanwhile, Barkha prepares a romantic dinner for Karthik. Karthik asks what all this is about. Barkha says there’s too much stress in the house since their wedding has been postponed and Karan has married Lakshmi. She admits she thought Lakshmi was a simple girl but never expected her to marry Karan. Barkha says that if she had known Lakshmi’s true intentions, she would never have hired her. Thinking about Lakshmi, Karthik angrily breaks a glass. Barkha tries to tend to his hand, but Karthik blames her for his situation. He says he came to Chandigarh to follow his dreams, but Barkha’s love and Karan’s interference forced him into this mess. Karthik says ever since Karan and Barkha entered his life, he has lost everything. He lashes out at Barkha and leaves.
Lakshmi comes out of the washroom and notices the room decorated with flowers. She asks Karan what he’s thinking. Karan mockingly throws a candle on the bed, setting the roses on fire, and says he realized she doesn’t like roses. Lakshmi quickly pours water to extinguish the fire and tells Karan that he needs a doctor. Karan makes another comment, then says he’ll sleep on the couch. Lakshmi insists she will sleep there instead so that she can escape if he tries anything.
Karan taunts Lakshmi and warns her to leave the room before he counts to three, or it won’t be good for her. Lakshmi tries to open the door but finds it locked. Karan walks toward her and says she must listen to him, or it will not end well. He warns her to make sure no one knows they aren’t truly married. Lakshmi lies down on the floor to sleep.
Bhavani later notices Karan and Lakshmi sleeping separately and secretly takes a picture of them.

Precap: Lakshmi is about to apply tikka to Dadi, but Dadi stops her and says she must first apply it to her husband. Karan lifts Lakshmi in his arms so she can put the tikka on him.
