The episode opens with Nandita announcing her plan to visit the Vaishno Devi temple along with Aradhana for a day-long trip. Before leaving, she entrusts the entire responsibility of the household to Khushi. She gently instructs her to handle Queenie’s temper with patience and sensitivity, believing that Queenie’s hardened attitude will eventually soften in front of Khushi’s sincerity and affection. Though Khushi gives her word that she will manage everything faithfully in Nandita’s absence, she cannot help feeling an overwhelming weight on her shoulders. Despite this inner pressure, Nandita’s unwavering trust in her gives Khushi a sense of purpose.
Meanwhile, Baldev pulls Krishna aside and asks him to look after Khushi while the elders are away. He fears that Queenie and Diljit might take advantage of the situation and trouble her, so he relies on Krishna to keep an eye on things and support Khushi whenever needed.
Later that night, Khushi prepares a sleeping arrangement on the floor, believing that she shouldn’t enjoy the comfort of a bed until she is contributing something financially to the household. Krishna strongly disagrees, refusing to let her sleep on the cold floor. The two engage in a light argument, with Krishna insisting that she deserves a proper bed, while Khushi remains firm in her belief. During this moment, Khushi opens up to Krishna about the deep pressure she feels since receiving the house keys from Nandita. Krishna reassures her, encouraging her to trust her own abilities and reminding her of Nandita’s faith. He tries his best to lift her spirits.
Before falling asleep, Khushi carefully removes her mangalsutra—an emotional and sacred gift from her mother—and places it aside respectfully. Exhausted, she eventually drifts into sleep on the floor. Seeing her sacrifice her comfort, Krishna feels reluctant to sleep on the bed himself. Once he is sure Khushi is fully asleep, he quietly spreads another bedding on the opposite side of the floor and lies down, wanting to share her discomfort rather than enjoy luxury alone.
The next morning, as sunlight filters into the room, Khushi wakes up and is startled to find Krishna sleeping on the floor across from her. His gesture touches her deeply, though she doesn’t express it openly. Before they can talk, Queenie barges into the room in her usual commanding manner. She demands that Khushi prepare a cup of coffee immediately, since all the household staff have taken a day off. It is clear that Queenie is using the situation to overload Khushi with chores in order to irritate and trouble her. Shortly afterward, Diljit also calls Khushi aside and instructs her separately to make black coffee for him, adding to the pressure she already feels.
Surrounded by challenges from every direction, Khushi silently prepares herself to face the day, determined to honor Nandita’s trust despite Queenie and Diljit’s intentions.
