The episode starts with Mangal taking down the dried clothes from the railing. She recalls the doctor’s words in tears about Akshat suffering from a congenital heart disease. Remembering her moments with Akshat, she hugs his shirt and breaks down badly. Someone places a hand on her shoulder. She wipes her tears and sees that it is Adit. Adit says he knows it is tough for her, but they need to stay strong for Akshat. He adds that he spoke to the doctor, who said he would call once the surgery date is fixed. Mangal asks how they can hide Akshat’s condition from the family members. Adit replies that they have to, otherwise his parents won’t be able to bear it, and they need to manage everything carefully.
Sowmya spies on them, trying to find out what they are hiding and why they are suddenly so sad. Adit tells Mangal that they need to be courageous for their son during his surgery. Mangal says she will not let anything happen to her son. Adit leaves, and Sowmya hides. Mangal calls out Sowmya, asking how long she plans to hide. Sowmya comes out and claims she was searching for her ring and found it there. Mangal says she knows Sowmya’s intentions, rebukes her, and leaves. Sowmya decides to take revenge on Mangal at the right time.
The next day, Akshat and his siblings refuse to eat dalia. Adit says his health is not good, so he asked Mangal to prepare it and requests them to eat it as well. Akshat argues that his health is fine and questions why he should eat it. Mangal asks him to eat, and Adit convinces Akshat by saying that if he eats his tiffin, he will fulfill all his wishes. Akshat agrees and tells Adit that he has written many New Year wishes in a book and that Adit is “booked.” He eats and goes to get the book.
Adit goes to the kitchen and asks Mangal to eat breakfast. Mangal refuses and says that her son calls her the best mother, yet she failed to realize that Akshat has a hole in his heart. Adit consoles her and says that the surgery date is fixed for two days later and that Akshat will be fine. Neel and Ishana overhear their conversation and ask about Akshat’s condition. Adit reassures them that Akshat will be fine after the surgery and asks them not to worry.
Akshat calls Adit and Mangal to the hall and says he has a wish—that they should remarry and live together as a happy family again. He shows them their wedding photograph. Ishana asks Adit to agree, and Adit agrees to fulfill Akshat’s wish. Mangal is shocked. Akshat then asks Mangal to say yes as well. Adit apologizes to Mangal for agreeing without asking her and says he did it for Akshat’s happiness. Mangal also agrees for Akshat’s sake. Adit thinks to himself that he wishes he could tell Mangal that he had the same wish and that he is repenting for his past mistakes.
Kusum tells Adit and Mangal that they are not legally divorced but are living like a separated couple, and now Akshat is making them remarry, so they should start their life afresh. Akshat jumps in excitement, and Mangal and Adit hold him at the same time. Sowmya gets furious seeing them together.
Later, Mangal prepares food and recalls Adit’s betrayal with Sowmya, his realization of his mistake, and his request for another chance. She also remembers Akshat’s health condition and his wish to see their remarriage. Mangal thinks that if Akshat is happy with this marriage, she will go ahead with it. Suddenly, Mangal’s saree catches fire. Kusum, while talking to Shanti on the phone, mentions that Makar Sankranti is the best day for the remarriage. She notices Mangal’s saree on fire and quickly puts it out by pouring water. Kusum tells Mangal that she knows she is agreeing to this marriage for Akshat’s sake. When Mangal asks how she knows, Kusum replies that it is difficult to trust Adit after his betrayal and that she understands Mangal’s struggle. Kusum adds that they are not legally divorced, Maata Rani never broke their marriage, and Adit has changed and is truly repenting for his mistakes. She advises Mangal not to overthink and to give Adit another chance. Kusum hugs Mangal and says that it is a happy time for them.
