The episode starts with Deepa asking Karthik for help to take care of Jyoti until she returns from work. Karthik agrees. Deepa thanks him, but she rejects Karthik’s offer to give her a phone. Karthik convinces her to accept the phone, saying she can pay him back when she’s able to. Deepa takes the phone and then leaves. Karthik is happy and relieved.
Here, Shoba asks Bhanu whether his plan will work out. Vijayanti expresses her worries about Bhanu’s plan, but he assures them both that his plan will definitely work out. Deepa arrives there. Bhanu gets hopeful. Shoba asks Deepa about Jyoti’s whereabouts. Deepa slaps her, shocking Bhanu. Bhanu questions Deepa for slapping Shoba. But a furious Deepa takes a sword in her hand and vows to kill Bhanu if he tries to take away her daughter Jyoti from her. She further says that she has tolerated his insults and humiliation, which are directed at her, but she will not spare him if he or his family members try to take her daughter from her. Both Vijayanti and Shoba heed Deepa’s warning. Deepa gives a final warning to Bhanu and his family, then leaves.
On the other side, both Karthik’s and Kanika’s families discuss choosing an engagement date for Karthik and Kanika. They finalize the date and are happy. Meanwhile, Deepa enters the house and is shocked to see Karthik and Jyoti playing, so she rebukes Karthik. Jyoti interferes and defends Karthik, saying that he took good care of her during her absence. Deepa sends Jyoti inside. Then she apologizes to Karthik for misunderstanding him. She also requests Karthik not to give things or food items to Jyoti that she cannot afford. Karthik asks her to allow him to be a part of Jyoti’s life and take care of her as a friend. Deepa becomes speechless, so she remains silent. Karthik leaves the house with a happy smile on his face.
Later that night, Kanika comes to meet Bhagyashree. She requests Bhagyashree not to inform Karthik about her engagement, saying they should keep this a secret to surprise him. Bhagyashree asks Kanika if she thinks her plan will work out. She also asks if Kanika doesn’t think that Karthik should be aware of this, as it’s his future. Kanika tells Bhagyashree that she has known Karthik since childhood and he loves surprises, so her plan to keep their engagement a secret will make him happy when they reveal it to him. Bhagyashree expresses her concern, but Kanika convinces her to accept her idea.
Bhagyashree tells Kanika that she is happy to have her as her daughter-in-law, who loves her son Karthik a lot. Just then, Karthik arrives and asks them about their discussion. They both hide their conversation with a lie. Then Kanika orders Karthik to be part of her grandmother’s birthday party and leaves. Karthik sees Bhagyashree’s happy face, so he asks her the reason behind it. Bhagyashree tells him that she has a feeling that they are going to be happy in the future. Karthik thinks about Deepa and tells Bhagyashree that he feels the same, and now he knows where his true happiness lies.
Precap: A worried Deepa tries to wake an unconscious Jyoti while Karthik and Kanika get ready. Chitralekha tells Kanika that she is finally going to get Karthik. Karthik receives a call and rushes to save Jyoti.
Our take: Deepa’s stern warning may strike fear into Shoba and Vijayanti’s hearts, but Bhanu will surely try to trouble Deepa again. With Karthik’s realization about his feelings for Deepa and Kanika’s surprise engagement plan, the drama is clearly heading towards heartbreak and conflict.
