The episode starts with Durga telling Chandini and Meera that while they might have endured Rajesh beating them, she won’t tolerate it and knows how to fight back. Chandini reminds Durga that Rajesh could come at any time and warns her not to speak like this, or Rajesh might hurt those close to her.
Anubhav and other members of the Rathore family discuss Durga. Anubhav expresses his confusion, wondering why Durga, who had been so passionate about her studies, left everything and got married. Madhav agrees, saying he doesn’t understand either, but it’s a fact that Durga willingly married Rajesh. He comments on how she admitted in front of everyone that she wanted the marriage. Panibai also criticizes Durga, telling the family she will never allow Durga to step into their house again.
Vikram, however, says they need to invite Durga for the Pag Phere ritual. Savitri disagrees, saying there’s no need and that she doesn’t want to see Durga’s face. Vikram reminds Savitri that Rajesh is his right-hand man and will continue working for him for a long time. He suggests that after they complete the Pag Phere ritual, they can break off all ties with Durga. Aarthi listens in silence. Vikram then tells Aarthi that she has to perform the ritual, but Aarthi responds that she doesn’t even want to look at Durga. Panibai notices Aarthi’s distress and asks why she seems upset when Durga is mentioned. Aarthi explains that she raised Durga like her own daughter, but Durga has now ruined her life.
Rajesh’s aunt arrives at his house with her nephew Mohan. Meera and Chandini greet her. Rajesh’s aunt asks where the new bride and Rajesh are. Durga comes downstairs, greeting Rajesh’s aunt from the middle of the stairs. Rajesh’s aunt, upon seeing Durga, praises Rajesh’s luck.
Meanwhile, Vikram questions Aarthi, asking if she really believes he would marry Durga into a family like Rajesh’s. Vikram adds that while Rajesh might not be well-educated, he is hardworking and capable of taking care of Durga. Aarthi remains silent.
Rajesh returns home and speaks with his aunt. She assures Rajesh that she will teach Durga everything and asks him not to worry. She also tells Durga to perform the Karwa Chauth ritual for Rajesh, and Durga agrees.
Savitri tells Aarthi there’s no need for her to leave home for the Karwa Chauth ritual. Panibai reminds Savitri that it’s a tradition from their ancestors to perform the ritual at the temple, and asks if they will abandon this custom because of Durga’s mistake. Savitri tells Panibai to stop interfering, but Vikram supports Panibai, reminding Savitri that Aarthi’s father instructed her to uphold the family’s traditions and values. Madhav assures Vikram that the tradition won’t be broken.
Rajesh’s aunt arrives at the temple with his three wives for the Karwa Chauth ritual. Meera declares that she will perform the ritual only for herself and no one else, so she can be free from her misery. Durga asks Meera why she’s speaking this way, saying they only have one life. Meera responds bitterly and asks Durga why she married Rajesh. Durga tells her that she will reveal the reason when the time is right.
