The episode starts with Neil telling Teju that she can walk away from the marriage if she wants. Teju responds, saying it’s easy for him to say that. She comments on Neil’s attitude and says that even in a forced marriage, a woman’s self-respect matters, and she will not compromise on it. Teju then sits on the floor and blames Neil for everything that has happened to her. She worries about her shattered dreams. Neil apologizes to Teju, but she asks him not to, saying it feels like he’s mocking her. Teju lashes out emotionally.
Later, Neil and Teju accidentally fall onto the bed. Rituraj walks into their room, makes a sarcastic remark about Neil, and apologizes for interrupting their “romantic” moment. He gives Teju some tablets, recalling she had asked for them earlier. Neil tells Rituraj there’s no need for the tablets and suggests that some rest will help Teju instead. Rituraj makes another comment and leaves.
Teju has a headache. Neil tells her she can take the medicine if she wants, but Teju declines and comments on it.
Neil comes up with an idea. He brings some ice and asks Teju to rub it between her thumb and fingers. Teju agrees and follows his suggestion. Neil then promises Teju that he will support her in pursuing her dreams. He encourages her to focus on her MA exams. Teju questions if his family will even allow her to take the exams after everything that happened. Neil responds and later asks her to go to bed. He says he will sleep on the couch and does so.
The next day, Teju speaks to Mukta over the phone. Mukta advises her to be a good daughter-in-law, warning that if she doesn’t, people will question her and Mohit’s upbringing. Teju says she will try. Mukta adds that to be a good daughter-in-law, she must also be a good wife and asks Teju to think about it. Teju stays silent.
Later, Teju prepares Modak as part of her first kitchen ritual and serves them to everyone at the dining table. None of the Pradhan family members eat the Modak. Leena asks Teju what they are. Teju replies that these are Modak and that she made them as part of her first kitchen ritual. When Leena tries to throw them away, Teju stops her and forcefully puts one in her mouth. Teju explains that it’s Sankashti Chaturthi and that she offered the Modak to Lord Ganesha, so it is considered sacred Prasad. Upon hearing that, Leena eats the Modak and makes a comment about Teju. Teju then serves Modak to the rest of the Pradhan family. Prachi and Yash praise Teju’s Modak and comment positively.
