The episode starts with Yash and Prachi telling Neil that Teju has made the world’s best modak, and they make him taste it. Neil says it’s good. Yash then teases Neil by asking about his first night. Prachi interrupts, saying it must have gone well, and there’s no need to ask him. Neil tells them to focus on their studies and says he’s leaving for the hospital. Yash and Prachi insist that he should rest, assuming he might not have slept properly.
Rithu Raj enters and says, “I don’t know about Neil, but Teju must have slept peacefully—I gave her medicine for a headache.” Nandini comments that since Neil is a doctor, he would help Teju if she needed it, and questions why Rithu got involved. Rithu Raj replies that not everything requires a doctor’s help. He then notices a pillow on the sofa and asks who slept there. Prachi jokingly says maybe they didn’t need the pillow on their first night, so they placed it there, and tells him to stop acting like a nosy neighbor aunty. Nandini then tells everyone to come for the Naamkaran (naming) ritual.
At the hall, Amruta says everything is ready and they just need to call Leena. She and Vinod go to Leena to invite her to the Naamkaran ritual. Leena refuses to participate, but Vinod manages to convince her.
Yash tells Neil to take Teju to Europe for their honeymoon. Neil replies that Teju has exams. Leena walks in and sarcastically says that since Teju got a jackpot, what’s the need for her to study anymore? Neil questions her tone and reminds her that all the women in the house are graduates. Leena dismisses it, saying Teju is only pursuing an MA in music, which she thinks is unnecessary, and says Teju should focus on becoming a good daughter-in-law first. Neil asks if she doesn’t support Teju’s career goals, to which Leena openly says no. Neil tells Teju not to listen to such things from his mother. Teju confronts Leena, saying, “You never accepted me as your daughter-in-law, so why are you asking me to become a good one now?” Bhushan questions if there’s really a future in music, and says they can discuss it later. Amruta urges everyone to proceed with the ritual first.
Amruta says they need to choose a new name for Teju. Teju protests, saying she likes her name and doesn’t see a need to change it. Jeetu explains that ‘Teju’ is one of Goddess Parvati’s names, and since ‘Neil’ means Shiva, their names already match—there’s no need to change them. Amruta clarifies that the ritual doesn’t actually involve legally changing the name. Neil internally thinks he might name her “Aparajita” if things go well between them. Nandini asks Leena to suggest a name. Vinod jokes that they could form a band here. Leena insists on choosing the name herself, and Bhushan praises her. Neil thanks his mother, and Leena proceeds with the ritual.
Leena writes a name in the rice, then shocks everyone by saying Teju’s new name is “Illegitimate.” The whole family is stunned. Bhushan and Vinod tell Leena that she went too far. Leena defends herself, saying she only wrote Teju’s “true” identity. She continues insulting Teju. But Teju stands up for herself, saying, “My father loves my mother, and I believe their relationship is pure. I don’t care what others think. My name was given by my father, and it will remain Tejaswini Chavan.”
Neil supports her and says there’s no need to change Teju’s identity. He writes her name on the rice plate, saying, “Her new name is Tejaswini Chavan Pradhan.” Jeetu praises Neil and asks Teju if she’s happy. Teju smiles, while Leena quietly walks away.
Rithu Raj approaches Leena and says Neil is slipping away from her influence, standing up for Teju instead. He adds that Teju has taken Neil from her. Leena feels enraged and walks off.
Neil tells Teju he only added his surname to hers for the sake of the ritual and asks her not to take it too seriously.
Later, Senior Doctor and Suresh arrive at Neil’s house. They greet Neil and invite Rithu Raj to an event being organized at the hospital in honor of Neil and Teju. Vinod questions the need for it. The senior doctor says Neil is like family, so the celebration is necessary, and he asks Rithu Raj to perform. Rithu agrees but questions how Teju can come, given her exams. Neil offers to reschedule, but the senior doctor says everyone is excited to meet Teju and asks her directly if she can attend. Teju agrees. Neil wonders if she agreed because of Rithu.
Nandini asks Rithu Raj to acknowledge Teju’s new relationship status, but he refuses. He says, “I don’t see her in that way. I still see her the way I used to before the marriage—just as a friend.” Amruta accepts his response. The senior doctor invites the whole family to the event. Neil declines, saying he has research work. Bhushan and the doctor insist he attend and suggest he can do the work later.
