The episode opens with Nandita entrusting the entire household’s responsibilities to Khushi. As a symbol of this authority, she even hands her the key to the family locker. Khushi is visibly anxious about carrying such an important burden, but her humility touches Nandita. In contrast, Queenie and Vikram feel deeply threatened. Their jealousy spikes immediately, and they react with resentment, questioning Nandita’s decision and calling it unfair. Yet Nandita stands firm. She explains that she has observed Khushi’s sincerity, respectful nature, and ability to manage things with extraordinary discipline—qualities that make Khushi more deserving than anyone else.
Khushi is also gifted several pieces of jewellery, which further fuels Queenie’s envy. Krishna grows restless as he listens to the subtle jabs directed at Khushi’s character and background. Sensing hostility in the atmosphere, Baldev reminds everyone that Khushi is not an outsider; she has a rightful place in the house and therefore deserves respect. When Krishna is asked to help Khushi wear the necklace she has received, he gently requests her to display the locker key as well, symbolizing her newfound authority.
Motivated by the taunts and insults she had heard earlier from Queenie and Anushka, Khushi decides to carry herself with dignity. She gracefully climbs the stairs and descends like a queen, showing confidence rather than allowing herself to be belittled. Krishna, noticing every attempt made to demean her, makes it clear that he intends to shield Khushi from further humiliation.
Queenie, already burning with anger, lashes out at her children when she discovers they accepted expensive gifts from Krishna and Khushi. She does not want them forming warm bonds with the couple she deeply mistrusts. However, the situation takes a dramatic turn when the children reveal that the costly presents supposedly brought from America were actually purchased from a local mall. Queenie, proud of her children for uncovering the truth, storms off to confront Krishna.
Khushi and Krishna face uncomfortable questions about the deceit. Instead of panicking, Krishna cleverly diffuses the situation. He admits the truth—that the gifts were indeed bought from a mall in Delhi. He then adds that his busy schedule prevented him from bringing anything from America, but that does not diminish the affection he holds for the family. His explanation, though tactful, leaves Queenie embarrassed and defeated, prompting her to retreat silently. Krishna later assures Baldev that he will always stand by Khushi and safeguard her dignity.
Meanwhile, Queenie becomes even more suspicious. She concludes that Krishna and Khushi are expert manipulators who conveniently change their story each time they face exposure. She is advised to remain extremely cautious, to play along with them without creating unnecessary friction, especially because Baldev is likely to react harshly to further conflict.
Towards the end of the episode, Nandita apologizes sincerely to Khushi. She is heartbroken by Queenie’s behaviour and ashamed of her daughter’s hostility. But Khushi, though polite, is troubled by something deeper—the realization that Nandita is living under false expectations and misplaced trust, which might eventually cause her more pain.
