The episode starts with Maitree assuring Swayam that she won’t let anything happen to him. Swayam says he is fine and asks if he can call her mother. Maitree says yes, I’m your mother. Swayam asks who his father is. He presses Maitree for an answer. Yash tells Swayam that he is his father. Maitree is taken aback. Yash says to Swayam that he always wants to have a son like him. He asks Swayam if he accepts him as his father. Maitree asks Swayam to sleep. She makes Swayam sleep.
Maitree takes Yash downstairs. She questions why he did it in front of Swayam and asks if he knows what he did. She says I respect you but I never saw our relationship in that way. Yash says he also sees her as his friend. He tells her he wants to marry her for Swayam. He reminds her he too raised Swayam like her. Swayam comes there and asks Yash to marry Maitree to become his father. Swayam asks Maitree to marry Yash to fulfill his wish. Maitree looks on.
Tiwaris hears a calling bell sound. They think about who came home at this time. Sona opens the door and feels happy seeing Maitree. Maitree goes to Harsh and pleads with Harsh to give his name to her son and requests him to become Swayam’s father. The Tiwari family feels happy hearing it. Maitree asks Harsh to fulfill her wish. Harsh says he can never become a father to her illegitimate child believing her fake stories. Maitree says I know your answer before itself but I came here with hope as you’re always the first priority to me but you broke me completely so I took a decision. Harsh says he too took one decision. He says he is breaking their relationship and asks her to return the nuptial chain. Maitree removes her mangal sutra. She returns the mangal sutra to Harsh and tells him his no to her request breaks their relationship forever. Maitree leaves from there.
Sona scolds Harsh for losing a gem like Maitree in his ego. She leaves for her room. Maitree walks lifelessly on the road in tears. Harsh recalls Maitree words and cries holding the nuptial chain. Later Harsh notices he emptied the wine bottle. He holds Mangalsutra and punches the cupboard angrily. Nandini comes there and asks him to not hurt himself. She ties the kerchief to his wound. Harsh tells Nandini that everyone made him alone. Nandini says she is there for him as his friend. Harsh says no one is there for him. He sees a broken mangal sutra and says Maitree won. Harsh comes out of the room. Maitree says he is drunk and asks him to not disturb others. Harsh asks Nandini if he is that bad. He is about to fall. Nandini holds him and makes him sit in the chair. He sleeps holding her hand. Nandini tries to take back her hand but she can’t. She sits there helplessly.
Maitree returns home. Yash asks Maitree where she went and why she didn’t answer his calls. Maitree says I went to give a last chance to Harsh but Harsh killed my hope and the relationship we shared. She sees herself in the mirror and cries seeing her empty neck. Maitree says Harsh refused to accept my Swayam.
