The episode starts with Ishana feeling upset while looking at Kapil on her birthday. Kapil wishes Ishana a happy birthday. Ishana recalls how Kapil had slapped Adit. She thanks Kapil coldly.
Meanwhile, Pratima tells Mangal not to worry, saying Kapil is good at making friends with children. Mangal says she will get Pratima some juice and leaves.
Kapil tells Ishana he wants to talk to her. Ishana says she can’t hear him because of the music and asks him to come into the room. Kapil agrees.
Inside, Kapil apologizes to Ishana for hitting her father and admits it was his mistake. He asks if they can move on and offers her a gift. Ishana angrily hits the gift away, accusing him of pretending to care. Kapil says Mangal is worried about both of them and suggests a fresh start. He picks up the gift and offers it again, but Ishana steps on it.
Meanwhile, Kusum offers sweets to Pratima and says she and her husband will do Mangal’s kanyadaan, expressing happiness about Mangal’s second marriage. Pratima feels happy and says her friend is back. Sowmya observes them and thinks that friends can turn into enemies anytime. Mangal welcomes Yash, Ishana’s friend.
Kapil tries to explain to Ishana that she misunderstood his conversation with his mother and says he doesn’t want to separate Mangal from her kids. Ishana reveals she sent the recording of his confession. Kapil insists she is mistaken, but Ishana refuses to listen and shouts at him. Yash sees everything from the doorway.
Mangal looks for Yash. She notices Adit about to slip and helps him. Adit thanks her, mistaking her for Sowmya. When he realizes it’s Mangal, Sowmya arrives and offers to help Adit. Adit tells Sowmya he knows she isn’t interested in the party. Sowmya says Mangal is handling everything and not letting her do anything.
Back in the room, Kapil tells Ishana not to create a scene as everyone is outside. Ishana provokes Kapil, saying if he really wants to hit her, he should slap her. She forces Kapil’s hand, making it look like he slapped her. Yash witnesses everything.
Mangal brings the cake and wonders where Ishana is. She asks Akshat to call Ishana, but he’s busy playing. Adit offers to call her instead. Meanwhile, Kapil sees Yash standing by the door and leaves the room.
Kapil approaches Mangal and says he needs to talk immediately. Mangal asks what happened. Kapil says things got out of hand. Just then, Adit arrives and confronts Kapil, asking how he dared to raise his hand on Ishana. Ishana stands beside Adit, distressed. Mangal asks Ishana what happened. Kapil tries to explain, but Adit stops him, pointing out Ishana’s cheek has his handprint. Kapil insists he didn’t hit her and says he can never do that. Ishana thinks to herself that now Mangal will never forgive Kapil after this incident.
Kapil pleads with Mangal to trust him, saying he didn’t raise his hand at Ishana. He says, “You know me, Mangal ji.” Ishana responds, “Yes, Mom, you know Kapil Uncle very well, but you don’t understand me.”
Kapil asks both Adit and Mangal to trust him. Ishana says, “Kapil scolded me so much when he took me into the room. I told you before, Mom, that Kapil doesn’t like me and Akshat, and now it’s proved again.” Mangal looks on.
