During the Shanti pooja, the burnt divorce papers packet again falls near Mangal. Mangal says the divorce was never filed in court, so she and Adit are still a legal couple. Adit tells Sowmya that these papers cannot prove that the house belongs to her. The lawyer says that the papers alone are not enough, so Sowmya used them to transfer the house through registration, making her the legal owner. Sowmya is about to take the papers when Mangal stops her. Sowmya questions why Mangal has come there. Mangal replies that the house does not belong to her. Sowmya mocks Mangal, saying it is a legal matter and she would not understand it as she is illiterate. She adds that Adit transferred the house, property, and bank FDs to her name, and everything belongs to Adit’s wife. Mangal counters that Sowmya is not Adit’s legal wife according to the law. Adit and his family, who arrive there, look on in shock. Mangal says that her divorce with Adit never happened. Adit asks how that is possible. Kusum and the others feel happy. Mangal thanks the lawyer and asks him to leave, saying she will call if needed.

Kusum says she brought Sowmya into the house and will now correct her mistake by ousting her. Shanti supports Kusum and says she finally feels proud of her as her samdhan. Kusum is about to throw Sowmya out, but Mangal stops her. The children question why Mangal is stopping the evil from being thrown out. Mangal explains that Sowmya is carrying Adit’s child and should be allowed to stay until the delivery. Adit supports Mangal, saying Sowmya could harm the baby if sent away, so it is safer for her to stay. The children rebuke Sowmya, and Ishana says she cannot tolerate her presence. Mangal says they must endure her for two more weeks.
