The episode begins with Kusum telling Mangal that she will accompany Sudesh to the bathroom. Mangal replies that Dad can manage on his own, and she has already arranged everything, so it’s better to let him try himself. Kusum agrees. Mangal encourages Sudesh to try, and he goes inside.
Kusum expresses her concern to Mangal, wondering how Sudesh will manage alone. Mangal assures her that he can handle it. Just then, Sudesh touches the water and screams in pain. Alarmed, Mangal and Kusum rush to the door and start banging on it, urging him to open up. Meanwhile, Sudesh accidentally turns on the tap further, and more hot water pours out.
Adit and Sowmya arrive at the scene. Kusum pleads with Adit to do something, as Sudesh is in trouble. Sowmya worriedly says she hopes he doesn’t fall. Kusum snaps at her, asking her not to say such inauspicious things.
Adit breaks open the door and finds Sudesh collapsed on the floor, scalded by the hot water. He glares angrily at Mangal. They bring Sudesh out to the hall. Mangal quickly applies ice on his burns. Sowmya says that Dad’s hand is burned. Mangal insists that she had already set the water to the correct temperature and doesn’t know how it turned so hot.
Kusum scolds Mangal and asks her to give her the ice so she can take care of Sudesh herself. Adit tells Mangal to stay away from his father, saying they’re tired of her “drama.” Sowmya accuses Mangal of being careless and says if Adit hadn’t broken the door in time, they don’t know what might have happened.
Adit furiously tells Mangal to stop torturing his father. Mangal defends herself, saying she had checked everything and even turned off the geyser. She suspects someone may have turned it on after she left. Adit accuses her of intentionally sabotaging Sudesh’s recovery and yells at her to stop pretending like her mother. He cruelly adds that even an animal would understand, but she doesn’t.
Mangal says she doesn’t need to keep proving herself again and again. She bitterly adds that trying to help Papa was a mistake, and now she won’t do anything further. She declares that she’s leaving and that they can take care of Sudesh themselves. She storms out. Sudesh weakly protests, “No, no…”
Elsewhere, Kapil asks Pratima why she didn’t go to the temple. Pratima says she went to Mangal’s house and questions why Mangal keeps giving chances to Adit when he insults her. Kapil replies that it’s Mangal’s life and her choice. He adds that he’s just a friend and won’t cross any limits. He requests Pratima not to bring up the topic again and leaves. Pratima, however, decides to make Mangal realise her mistake.
Back at home, Kusum stops Mangal from leaving. Mangal says she didn’t do anything wrong, but since Papa got hurt, it’s better for her to go. As she’s about to touch Kusum’s feet, Kusum wipes Mangal’s sindoor. Shocked, Mangal asks what she’s doing.
Kusum replies that if Sudesh finds out that Sowmya is his daughter-in-law and not Mangal, he could be devastated, and she could lose her husband. Sowmya tries to assure Kusum that she’ll take care of Sudesh, but Kusum silences her and says Sudesh will not recover if Mangal leaves. She emotionally pleads with Mangal to stay.
Adit interjects, saying they can manage without Mangal and insists she should leave. But Kusum stands firm and says, “We are not everything to Sudesh. For him, Mangal is everything.”
Mangal tries to calm Kusum and agrees to stay until Sudesh recovers.
