The episode begins with Shanti telling Mangal, “If your promise to me isn’t fake, then sit in the pooja.” She makes Mangal sit down. Meanwhile, Sowmya is puzzled, wondering how Pratima is conducting Kapil’s engagement with someone else. She asks Adit if he knows who Kapil is getting engaged to. Adit replies that he doesn’t. He adds, “I know Mangal well—she would never marry someone like that. And I don’t even know who Kapil is marrying.”
Just then, Kusum arrives and asks if Kapil is really getting married. Adit confirms it, saying he heard today is the engagement pooja. Kusum expresses surprise that Pratima didn’t inform her but assumes she must be busy. She decides to call her. Sowmya, on the other hand, resolves to find out the complete truth.
Kapil tries to calm Pratima, saying that Mangal is naive and has already agreed to sit in the pooja, so she needn’t worry. Kapil notices Mangal already seated, and Pratima forcefully makes him sit beside her. She then asks the pandit to begin the pooja.
The pandit starts the rituals and asks the couple to pray for a smooth marriage. Pratima silently prays for the wedding to happen without any obstacles. She receives a call from Kusum but chooses not to answer. Meanwhile, Kusum wonders why Pratima isn’t picking up and decides to deliver prasad from the temple herself. She asks the auto driver to take her to Kapil’s house.
During the pooja, Pratima applies kumkum to Mangal and Kapil’s foreheads and blesses them for a happy life. Mangal is overwhelmed and tearful. Pratima performs aarti for the couple, and the pandit announces the completion of the ceremony. Shanti tells Pratima, “From now on, consider Mangal your daughter-in-law.” Pratima responds, “Mangal is like a daughter to me.”
Mangal, remembering how Kusum once treated her as a daughter, quietly walks away and breaks down crying in the washroom. She looks at herself in the mirror and tries to compose herself, removing her bangles and necklace. Shanti, standing outside the door, asks her why she left so suddenly. Mangal says she’s coming. Just then, Shanti receives a call and walks away.
Pratima thinks to herself, “Mangal now belongs to Kapil, and no one can separate them.” At that moment, Kusum arrives and confronts her: “Why didn’t you tell me the good news?” She explains that she came straight from the temple with prasad to bless the couple and insists on meeting her new daughter-in-law.
Mangal sees Kusum and is shocked. Kapil notices Kusum and tries to approach her but gets distracted by a phone call. Shanti, seeing Kusum, becomes uneasy and tries to leave, but Kusum spots her and questions why she’s there. Kusum says, “Mangal told us you were unwell and went to your house. Are you okay?”
Just then, Mangal enters. Kusum questions her presence at Kapil’s house. Shanti suggests they talk inside as guests are present. Inside the room, Kusum confronts Mangal for lying. Mangal insists she didn’t lie, but Kusum doesn’t believe her and calls her a liar. Shanti defends Mangal, saying, “I called Mangal here. My daughter did not lie. I’m staying at this house temporarily.”
Mangal explains, “Mom’s house is under renovation, so Mom is staying in Pratima Ji house.” Kusum asks why Mangal didn’t bring Shanti to their home. Shanti interjects, saying, “I refused. Mangal has no ties with your family anymore.” She scolds Kusum for mistreating Mangal.
Kusum sarcastically thanks Shanti for clarifying that their relationship is over. Mangal pleads with her to listen, but Kusum refuses. “I came here and saw everything myself,” she says. Mangal tells her she tried to speak the truth but couldn’t. Shanti consoles Mangal and assures her, “Don’t worry. I will explain everything to her.”
