The episode starts with Mangal coughing due to the smoke from the Sambrani. She begins to feel suffocated and drops the Sambrani pot. Adit happens to pass by the room and notices Mangal collapsing on the floor. He rushes to her side and realizes she is having an asthma attack. He urgently asks her where her inhaler is, brings it, and helps her inhale the medication. He then opens the windows to allow fresh air in.
Meanwhile, Kapil wonders where Mangal is. Pratima tells him that Mangal went to light Sambrani around the house. Sowmya, suspecting trouble, thinks Mangal must be struggling to breathe somewhere. Kapil sets out to look for her.
Adit notices Mangal still coughing and offers her water, which she drinks. Kapil and others witness this moment. The guests see this and start gossiping, saying Mangal’s fast has been broken—and that too by Adit, her first husband. One of the guests comments that it seems Mangal kept the fast for Adit, not Kapil. Embarrassed, Pratima asks the guests to leave. Adit tells Kusum that they should also leave.
Mangal retreats to the washroom, uses her inhaler again, and washes her face.
Pratima stops Adit and confronts him for breaking Mangal’s fast. She accuses him of deliberately feeding her water and questions why he didn’t call them instead. Adit explains it was an emergency. Pratima angrily tells him to stop pretending and reminds him how her son gave him a job, only to be insulted in return. She lashes out, saying he always ruins the atmosphere and that she had only invited him out of formality. Kusum feels deeply hurt by her words. When Pratima calls Adit shameless, Kusum defends him, insisting Adit was only helping Mangal.
Pratima retorts that Mangal kept the fast for her son, but Adit ended up breaking it. She asks Kusum how she would feel in her place, pointing out how easy it is to speak but how hard it is to feel the pain. She accuses Adit of repeatedly ruining their happiness. When Kusum tries to intervene, Pratima silences her and blames her for Adit’s behavior. Adit, frustrated, asks her to stop creating a scene and insists he helped Mangal out of concern for her safety. Pratima tells him to stay away from Mangal. Adit bitterly replies that showing humanity must be a mistake and that he regrets coming. He leaves in anger.
Shanti sees Mangal coming out and scolds her for letting Adit break her fast. Mangal, confused, asks when it happened. Shanti informs her that she drank water from Adit’s hands, upsetting Pratima and possibly hurting Kapil’s feelings. She says even the guests insulted Pratima over the incident.
Mangal comes to the hall and apologizes to Pratima. Pratima accuses her of snatching Kapil’s rights and giving them to someone who has no relation with her anymore. Mangal says she wasn’t in her senses. Pratima refuses to accept the excuse and questions why Kapil must suffer. Mangal pleads for forgiveness. Pratima tells her to seek forgiveness from Kapil, revealing he had kept a fast for Mangal and wanted to break it with her. Mangal is shocked to learn this.
Meanwhile, in a shocking twist, Sowmya pours kerosene on Adit’s car in front of the other ladies, who look on in horror. Adit tries to stop her, but Sowmya pushes him and lights a matchstick. Adit manages to stop her in time. Sowmya breaks down, demanding to know why he married her if he still loves Mangal. She accuses him of making her a laughingstock. Adit tries to explain, but she doesn’t listen. He tells her if she wants revenge, she can burn him instead. Kusum intervenes and tells him not to talk like that. Adit storms off. When Kusum questions Sowmya’s actions, she reveals she only poured water and staged the drama to remind Adit that she’s his wife and warns her mother-in-law to make Adit understand—or face her wrath.
Kapil walks away silently. Pratima tells Mangal that though Kapil won’t question her, she has seen his pain and can no longer stay silent. Shanti confirms Kapil fasted for Mangal. Lipika agrees. Shanti praises Kapil and tells Mangal she made a big mistake by allowing Adit to break her fast.
