The episode begins with Mangal asking Kusum if she spoke to Adit. Kusum responds curtly, “What is there to talk about? I’m arranging Sudesh’s medicines. Whatever needs to be discussed can wait.” Just then, Akshat calls Mangal to come outside.
Mangal steps out and sees Akshat unpacking a video game. She smiles, happy to see that he received it as a gift. Ishana joins and says she also got a gift. She opens it to find a bracelet and exclaims, “Wow!” She then asks Mangal if she arranged the gifts. Mangal replies, “No.” Ishana assumes they are from their father and is about to wear the bracelet when Akshat reads the card aloud — the gifts are from Kapil. Hearing this, Ishana gets upset and asks, “Why did Kapil send us gifts?” Mangal replies that she doesn’t know. Ishana tells Akshat not to open any more gifts and demands to know why Kapil sent such expensive items.
At that moment, Kusum walks in and asks Mangal the same question. Mangal insists she doesn’t know. Ishana presses, “He’s your friend. He must have told you something.” Mangal denies it. Frustrated, Ishana says she doesn’t like it, throws the bracelet aside, and walks away. Akshat follows, trying to comfort her.
Kusum again questions Mangal about the gifts. Mangal says she will call Kapil and ask him. Just as she’s about to dial, Adit snatches the phone from her. Shocked, she asks why he did that. Adit confronts her: “Why did Kapil send expensive gifts to my children?” Mangal repeats that she doesn’t know. Adit accuses her of lying and adds, “I was wrong about you, and Sowmya was right.”
Kusum asks what’s going on. Adit declares, “Mangal has started lying.” Mangal defends herself, but Adit pulls out a wedding invitation card. “What’s this then?” he asks. He reads it aloud: Kapil and Mangal’s Engagement Ceremony — and throws it in disgust.
Mangal, shocked, asks where he got it. Adit says everyone knows now and accuses her of betraying Kusum and Sudesh, who treated her like a daughter. Kusum, in tears, says, “Mangal can never remarry.” She reads the invitation and, recalling past incidents, realizes that the girl Pratima had in mind for Kapil was none other than Mangal. Devastated, she collapses onto the sofa.
Mangal tries to go to her, but Adit stops her and yells, “Stop this fake concern! You’re getting married in a month or two!” In the background, Sowmya watches happily, pleased her plan has succeeded. Mangal wonders why Kusum is so heartbroken even though she had already informed her — unaware that Sowmya had tricked her.
Adit continues to berate Mangal. Mangal says, “I told Amma everything.” But Kusum says, “Stop lying. When did you tell me?” Mangal replies, “Last night.” Kusum says, “I was at the jagrata last night!” Mangal explains, “You applied tika to me, and I thought you were giving your blessing.” Kusum reveals, “Sowmya told me to apply tika because you’re taking care of Sudesh Ji.”
Adit attacks Mangal’s character, saying, “You agreed to marry Kapil even after becoming a mother of two? You used to say you couldn’t live without the kids — you’re a liar!” Mangal, now furious, retorts, “You have no right to question me. Only Kusum has that right.”
Mangal turns to Kusum and says, “I agreed to marry Kapil because my mother refused to undergo surgery unless I accepted this marriage. I did it to save her.” Kusum asks, “Would you do the same if I were at risk?” Mangal answers, “Yes, I would.” Kusum then pleads, “Then don’t marry Kapil.” Mangal says, “But my mother—” Kusum interrupts, “I got my answer. From now on, we have no relationship.”
Heartbroken, Mangal says, “You and Sudesh are like my parents. I would never break our bond.” Kusum replies, “You’ve changed. You shattered my belief in you. Go live your life. I have no right to stop you anymore.” Mangal says, “I can’t marry without your blessing.” Kusum walks away.
Adit then asks, “Since when have you been in love with Kapil?” Mangal stares at him in anger.
