The episode starts with Adit giving blood pressure medicine to Kusum. He says they did wrong by attending Mangal’s mehendi. Akshat cries, and Adit consoles him. Mangal returns home and receives a call from Kapil. She goes inside and asks Kusum if she has taken her medicine. Adit tells Mangal not to show fake concern, saying his mother was insulted at her mehendi. Kusum starts crying. Mangal says it was just a misunderstanding and that Kapil had already apologized. Adit says Kapil only apologized because the necklace was found, otherwise they would have been called thieves. Kusum feels hurt seeing Mangal take her new family’s side.
Chinta Bua asks Bijli how the necklace went missing from Kusum’s bag even though she had kept it safely. Meanwhile, Kapil tells Pratima that he found the necklace in Kusum’s bag. Pratima asks if Kusum stole it, but Kapil says no—someone planted it there, and he discovered it when Adit was dancing in his intoxicated state. Kapil vows not to spare the culprit. Chinta Bua overhears their conversation and thinks she cannot let Kapil find out that she was responsible. She approaches Kapil innocently, saying he should forget the necklace matter and that she was wrong to accuse Kusum in front of everyone. Kapil says someone tried to frame Kusum, and he won’t spare that person.
Adit tells Mangal that she is clearly taking Kapil’s side and says they were wrong to attend the function. He adds that he called her several times to give Kusum medicine, but she didn’t respond, which led to this misunderstanding. Kusum stops Adit, saying she doesn’t want to hear more. When Mangal tries to speak, Kusum says “Bas karo.” Adit leaves. Kusum asks the kids to rest and walks away with Sudesh.
Chinta Bua asks Kapil to swear on her that he will forget the necklace issue so she can be at peace. Kapil agrees but wonders how Kusum aunty must be feeling.
Sudesh tells Kusum that she had told Mangal not to worry about her medicine, but Mangal still called Adit for help. Kusum says Adit was insulted in front of everyone, yet he didn’t reveal that Mangal had called him. Sudesh says there’s no point discussing it now since Mangal is getting married the next day and they might not get a chance to talk later. Akshat overhears them and cries, thinking his mother will leave them.
Later, Ishana asks Akshat why he is crying. Mangal arrives and asks the same. Ishana says she doesn’t know what Akshat heard in Dadi’s room, but he’s inconsolable. Akshat asks Mangal if she will leave them after marriage. Mangal assures him she will never leave them. Akshat reminds her that she left once before, and his father sent him to boarding school. Mangal promises it will never happen again and says no one can separate her from her children.
Kapil receives a call and answers happily. Mangal asks him to meet her immediately at a café near her house. Pratima asks whose call it was. Kapil says Mangal called him urgently and hopes she’s not calling off the wedding.
Kapil meets Mangal and asks if she wants to cancel the marriage. Mangal says no, but she wants to be sure that her children will stay with her after marriage. Meanwhile, Chinta Bua tells Pratima she dislikes Mangal’s kids and her ex-in-laws, and only likes Lipika. Pratima says it doesn’t matter because, after marriage, they won’t have to meet them. Chinta Bua secretly thinks she wants the marriage to break. Kapil tells Mangal that her kids will live with them and says he considers them his own. He assures her he would never separate her from them. Mangal holds his hand and says she doesn’t know how to thank him for always supporting her and making her feel lighter. Kapil asks about Kusum’s health. Mangal says Kusum’s self-respect is hurt. Kapil says he will apologize to her and tells Mangal he wants a promise from her. Mangal asks what it is.
