The episode starts with Karthik wondering why Lakshmi hasn’t come yet, as she never sleeps this much. The doctor asks Karthik to see the baby. Karthik feels happy and extends his hand, saying, “Lakshmi, see our baby.” Jia tries to touch his hand, but Lakshmi arrives on time, and they both happily see their baby. The doctor tells Karthik, “Your wife and baby are fine.” Lakshmi clarifies, “I’m his wife, and Imarti/Jia is the surrogate.” The doctor apologizes and asks them to wait outside while she performs a regular check-up.
Outside, Karthik asks Lakshmi how she could sleep for so long and tells her how Imarti escaped danger and contacted him. Lakshmi apologizes, promising it won’t happen again. Jia comes outside and sees them.
At home, Lakshmi wonders why she slept so deeply and grows suspicious. She checks the cup of tea Chanda gave her and asks if Chanda prepared it. Chanda replies that it was Imarti who made the tea.
Lakshmi confronts Imarti about what she mixed in the tea. Imarti/Jia cleverly fools her, saying she added nothing and only prepared it with the herbs she herself drinks. Lakshmi apologizes and asks Imarti to rest and call her if she needs anything. Imarti agrees, and after Lakshmi leaves, Jia feels relieved.
Early the next morning, Imarti sees Karthik and Lakshmi sleeping happily. She suddenly shouts, asking them to save her baby. Lakshmi and Karthik turn on the light and ask what happened. Imarti says she dreamt the baby was in danger, and since it was an early morning dream, it might come true, so they should perform a pooja. Karthik says it isn’t necessary, but Imarti insists. Lakshmi eventually convinces Karthik to agree.
Lakshmi gets ready, and Karthik admires her. Lakshmi tells him, “Today is our baby’s first pooja, so come home soon.” He agrees. At the pooja, the pandit says it will remove obstacles from the baby’s path. Jia tells Lakshmi, “You’re infertile, so it’s not advisable for you to be part of the pooja. I don’t want anything bad to happen to your baby.” Lakshmi replies, “You are carrying my and Karthik’s baby, and I am preparing the chandan for my baby. Nothing bad will happen because of me. Now go and sit in the pooja.” She gives the ubtan to Jia. The pandit asks Lakshmi to apply it to the mother’s stomach. Lakshmi applies the paste on Jia’s stomach. Jia screams that it’s burning, saying her instincts were right and Lakshmi’s presence is affecting the baby.
The ladies say Lakshmi shouldn’t sit in the pooja. Jia cunningly pleads with Lakshmi to stay away. Gayatri says, “If your surrogate wants you to stay away, then leave; otherwise, it may affect the unborn baby too.”
