The episode starts with Umesh asking Gayatri what kind of pooja she is organizing. Gayatri replies that it is for Karthik’s happiness and mentions that she has invited some friends as well. Umesh agrees. The doorbell rings, and Gayatri welcomes her friends.
During the pooja, Lakshmi and Karthik pray to the Goddess. Gayatri asks Lakshmi to distribute the prashad, and she leaves to do so. Meanwhile, Gayatri deliberately makes Karthik play with her friend’s grandson, remarking that the baby is happy with him. Lakshmi finishes distributing prashad and joins in playing with the baby. At Gayatri’s signal, the lady takes the baby away from Lakshmi. Her mother-in-law questions her behavior. The lady replies that since Lakshmi is infertile, she doesn’t want her son to suffer due to “nazar.” Karthik defends Lakshmi and scolds the lady for her narrow thinking. Gayatri pretends to be unaware and asks what happened. Karthik tells his mother she was wrong to invite such people. The guests apologize and leave.
That night, Lakshmi recalls the lady’s words and cries, clutching a pillow. When Karthik enters, she hides her pain and acts normal. Karthik consoles her, saying they must stay strong and face this problem together. Lakshmi says she doesn’t know why fate always tests her and expresses her sorrow that Karthik, who loves children so much, is suffering. Karthik reassures her, saying that their love is enough and that they are not defeated even if they don’t have children. Lakshmi hugs him emotionally.
Later, Gayatri gives Karthik’s childhood belongings to the watchman. Lakshmi notices and stops her, insisting they should keep them because they hold precious memories. Gayatri says those things only remind her that they have no grandchildren and that their dream remains unfulfilled. She leaves pretending to be in pain. Gayatri thinks to herself that she will make Lakshmi feel guilty enough to leave Karthik on her own. She then receives Mrs. Gupta and tells her to bring her daughter, adding that she dislikes Karthik’s first wife and wants him to remarry.
The next day, Gayatri suggests the family visit the Kuldevi Mandir for pooja. When asked why she isn’t coming, she pretends her feet hurt. Umesh agrees, and the family leaves. On the way, Sanjana suspects Gayatri is plotting something. She pretends to be in pain and asks them to return home. Concerned, Lakshmi tells Karthik to take them back. Meanwhile, Gayatri welcomes Mr. and Mrs. Gupta with their daughter Payal. When they ask about Karthik’s wife, Gayatri lies that Lakshmi cannot have children and they are separated. She shows them Karthik’s photos, claiming her son’s life was ruined after marrying Lakshmi but can be fixed if he marries Payal. Just then, the doorbell rings, and Gayatri is shocked to see the family return. The Guptas feel happy to see Karthik. Umesh questions who they are, while Mrs. Gupta tells Payal to take a photo with Karthik so she can show it to their relatives, calling him “our son-in-law.” A stunned Karthik asks, “What son-in-law?”
