The episode starts with Lakshmi meeting Dadi. Dadi gifts her a dress as a Diwali present. Lakshmi initially refuses to take it, but Dadi insists that she accept the gift. Dadi then asks Lakshmi to change into the dress in the third room. By mistake, Lakshmi enters Karan’s room.
Karthik also arrives at the Diwali party and wishes Dadi. Barkha thanks him for coming. Meanwhile, Karan, on a call, asks Maddy to come to the party, saying the guest list looks boring. He then notices Lakshmi in his room and questions her. Lakshmi says she entered by mistake. After a brief argument, he asks her to leave, and she walks out. Barkha takes Karthik to meet her family.
Later, Dadi calls everyone for the aarti. Karthik receives a call and steps aside to attend it. Dadi waits for Lakshmi. Lakshmi arrives wearing the dress gifted by Dadi. Karan gets mesmerized seeing her. Maddy teases Karan, but Karan insists he’s not interested in Lakshmi. Dadi praises Lakshmi’s beauty, saying she looks lovely in the dress. Lakshmi thanks Dadi for giving her the warmth of home. Dadi jokes that everyone forgot to do the aarti after seeing her. Lakshmi smiles.
As the aarti begins, Lakshmi turns and collides with Karan. She asks him to participate in the aarti, but he refuses. Lakshmi taunts him, and Dadi notices them, saying Karan needs a partner like Lakshmi to bring him on track. During the aarti, Lakshmi sees Karthik. When Dadi pulls her forward, Lakshmi slips and falls on Karthik, accidentally touching his hand. Embarrassed, she hides from Karthik and quickly leaves.
Barkha then shows Karthik around the house, saying Karan personally designed every inch of it. Karthik simply nods. When Barkha is called away, Lakshmi hides behind the curtains to avoid being seen by Karthik. She relaxes once she realizes he has left. Karthik decides to leave the party before anyone stops him, while Lakshmi also plans to leave.
Karan stops Karthik and says he’s heard Karthik was once a rockstar, asking what made him turn into a Devdas. Karthik recalls how his career fell apart after Lakshmi left him. He tells Karan he needs to leave and walks away. Dadi and her daughter-in-law start distributing Diwali gifts and bonuses to everyone. Barkha gives Karthik his gift and cheque. Seeing the amount, Karthik says it’s too much and he can’t accept it. Barkha insists that he deserves it, as everyone is getting the same. Karthik thanks her and says he needs to go. Barkha requests him to stay, but he insists on leaving.
Just then, Gyabi slips, spilling juice on Karthik. Barkha asks him to change his clothes in the room and insists. She then thinks of a plan to stop him. Spotting some firecrackers, she instructs a worker to keep them in the room. Barkha lights the firecrackers, thinking Karthik, being a gentleman, won’t leave her in danger. She pretends to be trapped in the room surrounded by burning crackers. Lakshmi comes there to rescue her. Barkha is shocked to see Lakshmi. It is revealed that Swetha had sent Karthik to another room, saying his friend was in that room’s washroom.
Barkha pushes Lakshmi away, saying she can handle herself, but Lakshmi’s head hits a sofa edge. She falls to the ground in pain as the fire spreads around her.
