The episode starts with a worker noticing that a room is on fire. He alerts everyone, saying that crackers are burning inside and someone is trapped. Karthik and Karan rush to save the person. Barkha stops Karthik and tells him she’s hurt too, but Karthik says someone is in danger and runs toward the room, ignoring her. Karan and Karthik enter the room. Karan saves Lakshmi and carries her out safely.
Karthik wonders who the woman trapped in the fire was and why he feels so worried for her. He overhears Gyabi on a call telling her mother that all employees only received ₹1000 as a bonus and that the Kapoors are stingy. Karthik realizes that Barkha had lied, saying she gave expensive gifts to everyone. He returns the gifts to Barkha, saying he can’t accept special treatment and knows why she did it. Barkha says he’s special to her, which is why she gifted him. Karthik replies that she shouldn’t expect anything from him, returns the gifts, and leaves. Barkha gets angry.
At the office, Lakshmi sees Karthik coughing and sends him some kadha through Shankar. After drinking it, Karthik recognizes the taste and says it’s just like Lakshmi’s style. He asks Shankar about it. Shankar says Lakshmi ma’am sent it and that she’s in the storeroom. Karthik goes there and meets another woman as Lakshmi. It’s revealed that Lakshmi made Kajal act as her to avoid Karthik.
Vyom asks Dadi to end the program soon. Dadi says it’s Bhai Dooj and asks him to wait until his sister arrives, adding that she sent Karan to bring her. Vyom says he’s her real brother, yet she treats that sauthela (step) brother better. Dadi warns him not to compare.
Karan enters Barkha’s room and asks why she hasn’t woken up. Barkha says she doesn’t want to meet anyone or celebrate Bhai Dooj, and asks him to leave. Karan asks her what she wants. Barkha, in tears, hugs Karan. Meanwhile, Swetha asks Lakshmi what she wants. Lakshmi says she doesn’t want anything. Swetha prays for Lakshmi’s happiness and wishes she gets what she truly desires.
Barkha tells Karan that she wants Karthik. Shocked, Karan says, “That loser?” Barkha says she fell in love with Karthik at first sight, and even though he rejected her, she still wants him in her life. Karan says he can’t see tears in her eyes and promises to fulfill her wish.
Karan gives Karthik a paycheck for his performance. Karthik thanks him. Karan says his sister is interested in him and that her support will boost his career, asking him to think about it. Karthik asks what he means. Karan reveals that Barkha loves him and calls him lucky. Karthik says he already told Barkha that he respects her but can’t reciprocate her feelings. Enraged, Karan throws water on Karthik’s face.
