The episode starts with Payal telling Karthik that her mother is very excited about their marriage. Karthik asks if they don’t know that he is already married and that Lakshmi is his wife. He then questions Gayatri about who they are. Gayatri replies that she wants him to meet Payal and her family. Karthik firmly says he doesn’t want to meet anyone and asks them to stop lying.
Payal’s mother scolds Gayatri for deceiving them by saying that Karthik and Lakshmi were divorced. She leaves with her family in anger. Later, Sanjana confronts Gayatri, asking if she deliberately sent them to the temple to arrange Karthik’s second marriage. Gayatri admits it and adds that this time she will choose a woman who matches their standards. Karthik gets shocked and questions her.
Gayatri declares that she never liked Lakshmi, but tolerated her for Karthik’s sake. She says Lakshmi cannot give them an heir, and insists he should marry Payal to have children. An enraged Karthik refuses. Gayatri claims that Lakshmi is infertile and can never make the family happy. Umesh slaps Gayatri, saying she has crossed all limits without even consulting him.
Gayatri blames Lakshmi for turning everyone against her. In frustration, she threatens to leave and pours kerosene over herself, asking Lakshmi to set her on fire. The family stops her. Gayatri then pretends to faint. When the doctor is called, he explains that her condition is due to stress and advises them to keep her stress-free.
Umesh apologizes to Lakshmi on Gayatri’s behalf. Lakshmi says Gayatri’s obsession with grandchildren forced her to think about Karthik’s second marriage. Karthik argues that nothing can justify her actions. Lakshmi tries to calm him, saying they can speak about it once Gayatri recovers. Karthik, upset, leaves.
In the kitchen, Lakshmi breaks down in tears. Meanwhile, Karthik vents his anger on a punching bag. He imagines having a baby with Lakshmi, but snaps back to reality and continues hitting the bag. Determined, he tells himself that Lakshmi deserves happiness, and he will fight destiny to have a child with her.
Later, Sanjana confronts Gayatri, accusing her of pretending to be unconscious. Gayatri rebukes her, vowing to get Karthik remarried or else become Sanjana’s servant. Sanjana confidently says Karthik will never agree, and they challenge each other.
The next day, Karthik rings the conch. The family gathers in the hall. Gayatri emotionally tells Karthik that she wants to see him happy with children before she dies. To everyone’s shock, Karthik announces that he has made a decision. He tells Lakshmi that his mother is right and declares he will fulfill her dream. Gayatri is overjoyed, while Lakshmi is shattered. Sanjana whispers to Lakshmi that Karthik has agreed to leave her for the sake of children.
