The episode begins with Lakshmi telling Karthik that the Vat Savitri Vrat is powerful and that every suhagan (married woman) observes it. Karthik tells Sanjana that no one can stop Lakshmi from keeping this fast. Lakshmi smiles and sends Karthik off to his recording session.
Gayatri tells Lakshmi that she had a fever just yesterday and shouldn’t keep a nirjal (without water) fast. Sanjana supports Lakshmi, saying that even she doesn’t listen when it comes to this vrat, as it’s believed to be very powerful. Lakshmi says she is observing the fast to protect her relationship with Karthik.
Umesh tells Gayatri that she received the family heirloom, the Kandani Kangan, when she kept the Vat Savitri Vrat for the first time, and now it’s time to pass the bangle to Lakshmi, as per tradition. Lakshmi initially refuses, but Umesh insists, and asks Gayatri to make Lakshmi wear the bangle. Though Gayatri hides her disappointment, she gives the bangle to Lakshmi. Lakshmi takes her blessings and says she’s sure that with her and Maa Vat Savitri’s blessings, her bond with Karthik will grow stronger. Jia, watching this, thinks to herself that she will break Lakshmi and Karthik’s relationship—neither this bangle nor the vrat will be able to save it.
Later, Lakshmi prepares mehendi for the evening pooja. She steps aside to get oil. Jia mixes a harmful powder into the mehendi to injure Lakshmi. Lakshmi returns and adds oil to the mixture, unaware of the sabotage.
The ladies gather in front of the mandir. Lakshmi asks Nidhi to apply mehendi to her. One lady suggests that Lakshmi should apply mehendi to Gayatri first. Lakshmi agrees. Jia is shocked and panics, as the glass pieces she had mixed in the mehendi will now harm Gayatri. To stop it, Jia throws a ball, making the mehendi bowl fall. She pretends to apologize.
A lady remarks that this is inauspicious and questions if there is any love left between Lakshmi and Gayatri. Sanjana intervenes and says she’ll order more mehendi. She also asks Lakshmi to change her saree.
Lakshmi enters her room and sees her ironed saree is missing. She tries to iron another saree, but due to a short circuit, she drops it and it burns. Sanjana and Gayatri rush in. Gayatri questions if Lakshmi is truly fasting with sincerity, as everything seems to be going wrong. It is revealed that Jia had switched the saree and cut the iron wire. Sanjana tells Gayatri to stop being negative and encourages Lakshmi to wear another saree and ignore the bad signs.
Karthik arrives and asks what happened. Sanjana tells him everything. Karthik takes Lakshmi aside, cleans her face, and reminds her she wanted to wear a yellow saree for the vrat. They pour yellow dye into a bucket and dip a white saree into it, creating a yellow one. Lakshmi smiles and tells Karthik she likes it. Karthik says he always wants to see her smile like that. Lakshmi says she’s keeping the vrat to strengthen their bond. Karthik suggests they make a “contract” that they’ll be together for seven lifetimes. He stamps both their names on her hand like mehendi. Lakshmi feels happy and thanks Maa Vat Savitri for letting her vrat continue successfully with Karthik’s support. Gayatri tells Jia her plan has failed. Jia smirks and says she has more plans in store.
Later, Lakshmi decorates the mandir for the pooja. She asks Reema about the photo of Satyavan and goes to the storeroom to get it. Jia locks the door from outside and increases the temperature. Lakshmi starts banging on the door, pleading for someone to open it. Jia says, “You’ll die inside, and my story with Karthik will begin with your end.” Lakshmi struggles in the heated room.
