The episode starts with Lakshmi feeling suffocated in the storage room due to the rising temperature. Jia hits her head with a glass bottle and decides to put on an act. She goes to Karthik’s room and looks for him to take her to the hospital, but she doesn’t find him. Jia can’t find Karthik anywhere. Gayatri arrives and tells Jia that she is injured. Gayatri asks Jia what happened. Jia, in turn, asks Gayatri where Karthik is. Gayatri says she doesn’t know. She also questions Jia, suspecting that something is wrong as Jia looks injured but is pretending otherwise. Jia then goes looking for Karthik.
Karthik is shown to be in the storage room with Lakshmi, and he also feels suffocated. Lakshmi tries to open the door but fails as it is locked.
Gayatri tells Sanjana that they should start the Pooja. Sanjana objects, asking how they can begin without Lakshmi, as she is the daughter-in-law of the house. Gayatri says Lakshmi should understand her responsibilities and perform the Pooja. The others start commenting about Lakshmi.
Lakshmi assures Karthik that she will get him out. She pours gasoline on the door and tries to find a matchbox but loses consciousness.
Meanwhile, Sanjana tells the story of how Savitri saved her husband Satyavan from Yamraj by fighting him. Lakshmi regains consciousness and sets the door on fire. She later rescues Karthik from the fire. Jia, still searching, doesn’t find Karthik anywhere in the house and wonders where he could be.
Gayatri and the others complete the Vat Pooja. Sanjana spots Karthik and Lakshmi and rushes to them. Gayatri becomes worried about Karthik. Jia is shocked and wonders how Karthik could be with Lakshmi and how Lakshmi managed to survive.
The doctor checks both Lakshmi and Karthik. Gayatri asks how Karthik is. The doctor replies that both are dehydrated. Lakshmi regains consciousness and asks the doctor about Karthik’s condition. The doctor says it’s a good thing she rescued Karthik from the storage room—otherwise, they both could have died in that heat. Lakshmi then asks how Karthik is now. The doctor says Karthik needs to regain consciousness soon; otherwise, there’s a risk of a heart attack. Hearing this, Lakshmi leaves to pray to God.
Gayatri takes Jia to a room and tells her to stop playing with her son’s life. Jia defends herself, asking how Gayatri could think she would put Karthik’s life in danger. Jia admits she didn’t know Karthik was in the storage room and that she had set the trap for Lakshmi. Gayatri questions why Jia is trying to kill Lakshmi and reminds her that she had asked Jia to wait for the right time. Jia says Lakshmi is already suspicious and might soon find out that Gayatri is helping her. Jia insists they should kill Lakshmi as quickly as possible.
