The episode begins with Lakshmi falling off a cliff and clutching a tree branch. Jia believes Lakshmi has died and says goodbye, declaring Karthik is now hers. Karthik calls out Lakshmi’s name. Jia, who overhears him, hides. Karthik searches for Lakshmi but doesn’t find her and suspects she may be in danger. Lakshmi tries to alert Karthik but fails.
A sweet corn seller arrives. Karthik asks if he has seen his wife, who is about 25. Jia, hiding behind a tree, shows money to the seller and signals him to lie. The seller lies to Karthik. Lakshmi then falls off the cliff, shouting.
After a few months
Karthik questions the police inspector about the lack of progress in finding Lakshmi. The inspector tells him again that Lakshmi likely did not survive the fall. Karthik expresses his distrust and vows to find Lakshmi himself, insisting he knows she is alive.
While driving, Karthik breaks down, recalling moments with Lakshmi. He sees a woman and rushes to her, but it’s not Lakshmi. He wonders where she is.
In a tender moment, a little girl plays with Lakshmi and calls her “mummy.” Raghu cheers them on, and they happily play a game together. Raghu snaps out of his imagination to find Lakshmi lying unconscious on a bed, supported by life support. He recalls the doctor saying they don’t know which emotion might trigger her recovery and that treating her at home is best. Karthik is about to touch Lakshmi’s hand when Veda says she knows he misses her, especially on their anniversary. She prays for Lakshmi’s recovery so they can live happily as a family. Veda then falls asleep beside the unconscious Lakshmi.
Gayatri asks Karthik where he has been and urges him to stop torturing himself. She notes he isn’t eating or sleeping properly. Karthik defensively says if eating is a problem and not eating is also a problem, then what does she want? He walks away, leaving Gayatri worried.
Jia approaches Gayatri, telling her not to be sad because today is her engagement with Karthik. She assures Gayatri she will change Karthik after marriage. Gayatri leaves silently.
Jia then asks Karthik to choose his outfit for the engagement, but he rebukes her. Jia insists she won’t let anything ruin her day and confidently says their marriage will happen.
Veda celebrates Raghu and Lakshmi’s anniversary by making them cut a cake. Karthik refuses to sign any contracts and tells someone on the phone that he will no longer sing, showing his frustration. Veda plays a song for Lakshmi, and by coincidence, the same song plays on the speakers where Karthik is. Lakshmi shows signs of improvement by moving her fingers.
