The episode begins with Bhavani making loud noises by hitting a plate with a spoon. Everyone rushes out of their rooms and asks what happened, but Bhavani continues to make noise without answering. Dadi stops her and questions why she is creating such a scene early in the morning. Bhavani angrily replies that the real “wedding drama” has just begun.
Bhavani then shows everyone a photo of Karan sleeping on the sofa and Lakshmi sleeping on the floor. Everyone is shocked to see it. Bhavani says, “This was their first night after marriage! Karan slept on the sofa, and Lakshmi slept on the floor — and they call this a love marriage?” She then questions Karan and Lakshmi directly, asking why they slept separately if they are truly married, or if they are hiding something from the family.
Dadi turns to Karan and Lakshmi and asks them to explain, wondering if they had a fight. Karan smiles and says, “Everything is fine between Lakshmi and me. She loves me and would never fight with me — she’s the sweetest.” Hearing this, Karthik becomes upset.
Karan continues, “The reason we slept separately is personal… but since you all are worried, I’ll explain.” He takes everyone to the room and says, “Last night, Lakshmi and I were lost in each other and didn’t notice when a candle fell and caught fire. We poured water to stop the fire, so the bed got wet. That’s why I slept on the sofa and Lakshmi slept on the floor.” He adds dramatically, “Don’t know whose evil eye fell on us.”
Dadi feels relieved and says everything will be fine now. Karthik still looks disturbed. Karan confidently says, “No one can come between Lakshmi and me. A new bed will arrive today, and Lakshmi and I will have a beautiful new start.” He then rebukes Bhavani, saying, “Why were you spying on a newly married couple’s room?” Dadi scolds Bhavani to stay within her limits and asks Lakshmi to forgive them. Lakshmi humbly says, “Please don’t apologize, Dadi. It’s not your fault.” Dadi then tells Lakshmi to get ready and come for the aarti.
Later, Lakshmi performs Mata Rani’s aarti. Dadi asks her to apply the first tika to her husband as per ritual. Lakshmi is about to place the tika on Karan’s forehead when he says, “Not like this.” He adds with a grin, “Everyone is doubting our love, so let’s clear it.” He lifts Lakshmi in his arms and touches his forehead to hers — transferring the tika mark. Everyone is stunned while Dadi smiles, calling them a “cute couple.” She then asks Lakshmi to prepare the pehli rasoi and tells Karan to stay away. Karthik says he’ll leave, but Dadi stops him, saying, “You can go after tasting Lakshmi’s kheer.”
In the kitchen, Lakshmi begins preparing the kheer, lost in her thoughts. Karan enters and startles her. She immediately places a knife at his neck and warns him to stay away or she’ll hurt him. Karan laughs, takes the knife from her hand, and teases her by getting closer. Just then, Karthik walks in to get water and becomes uncomfortable seeing their closeness. He recalls his own past moments with Lakshmi.
Barkha enters and asks Karthik what he’s doing there. He replies, “I just came for water,” then compliments her, saying she looks good with her hair open and gently unties it. Lakshmi watches this and recalls how Karthik used to do the same to her. Barkha and Karthik leave the kitchen, and Lakshmi, hurt, pushes Karan away.
Later, Lakshmi serves kheer to everyone. Dadi praises her and asks her to get ready for the muh dikhai ceremony in the evening. Before anyone can eat, Karan stops them and says, “Let Karthik taste it first.” Karthik tastes the kheer and frowns, saying, “It has salt instead of sugar.” Everyone is stunned. Barkha scolds Lakshmi for putting salt in Kheer instead of Sugar. Lakshmi says she has put sugar only and she doesn’t know where Salt came from. Karan defends Lakshmi and says Lakshmi has first time gone into the kitchen so she might have made a mistake. Karan says he will eat the Kheer no matter how it is. Karan takes the Kheer from the everyone and eats the Kheer. Dadi says to Lakshmi she is lucky to have a husband like Karan and comments on it. Karan says to Lakshmi in his heart that he is the one who has mixed Salt in the kheer and comments on it.
