The episode starts with Mangal trying to stop an auto, but no one stops. She thinks she is getting late. Adit arrives in his car and offers to drop Mangal at the competition venue. Mangal refuses at first, but he insists, and he drops her on time. Mangal thanks Adit for dropping her at the right time and leaves. Adit sees his boss’s car there.
Kusum starts cleaning the cupboard. She hears her phone ringing. While stepping down from the stool, she slips because of the soapy water, falls, and gets injured. Kusum thinks of calling someone for help. Bhabhiji tells the contestants that wood is used to prepare several items, and in this round, they must prepare three dishes using the same ingredient within an hour, and the dishes must be different enough that no one can guess they’re made from the same item.
Mangal asks her team to stay prepared for the round without any mistakes. She guides Rithu and Diya. Sowmya receives Kusum’s call but avoids it. Mangal sees Kusum’s name flashing on Sowmya’s phone and picks up the call. In her injured state, Kusum says, “Sowmya, I fell down… please come home quickly.” Mangal tries to talk, but the call becomes unclear. Kusum doesn’t respond further. Mangal takes her own phone to call Kusum, but Bhabhiji tells her it’s against the rules and they cannot use phones. Mangal worries about her mother. Diya tells her they need to cook fast.
Lost in thoughts, Mangal places the dish in the oven without removing the aluminium foil. Smoke comes out of the oven. The organisers stop the process. Bhabhiji asks who placed the dish without removing the foil. Mangal admits her mistake and apologises. Bhabhiji asks if she has lost focus. Mangal says she received a call from her mother and her health seems bad. Bhabhiji asks her to stop creating drama in every round and questions if she even wants to stay. Mangal says she doesn’t want to stay and is about to leave. Bhabhiji stops her, saying this is her kitchen and no one leaves without her permission, and if Mangal quits, the consequences will be serious. Mangal says something has happened to her mother and she can’t stay. Sowmya overhears this and wonders what happened to Kusum, as Kusum had called her many times. She thinks Mangal is going home anyway, so Mangal will take care of her.
Adit calls his colleague and asks why their boss’s car is at the Pehla Swad competition. His colleague says the boss has taken the Pehla Swad assignment. Mangal reaches home and searches for Kusum. She finds Kusum unconscious and injured on the floor. Later, the doctor treats Kusum. Adit wonders why Amma was doing cleaning work. Sudesh says he went out briefly, and the accident happened. Sowmya asks Adit not to worry. The doctor tells Adit that Kusum needs bed rest as the injury is deep. Mangal promises to take care of her.
Kusum gains consciousness. Mangal tries to hold her hand, but Sowmya holds it before her and pretends to care. Sowmya says Mangal didn’t inform her and she feels bad for not answering the calls because of work. Adit tells Sowmya not to blame herself. Sowmya says she isn’t well but will take care of Amma. Mangal says, “Take care of yourself. I will take care of Amma with father-in-law Sudesh’s help.” Sowmya and Adit leave. Mangal takes care of Kusum the entire night.
The next day, Mangal gives tea to Sudesh. Sudesh thanks Mangal for leaving the competition and taking care of Amma all night. Mangal says she has prepared everything for Amma. Sudesh asks her to go to the competition. Mangal agrees and leaves.
Mangal enters the venue wearing her uniform. Bhabhiji stops her from putting on her cooking hat by throwing a knife at the cap.
