The episode starts with Karthik receiving a call from Kanika and attending her video call. Kanika asks Karthik where he is. Karthik tells Kanika that he has come to Jyoti’s village to get her birth certificate. Kanika asks Karthik why he didn’t inform her. Karthik tells her that he came in a hurry. Kanika comments on Karthik and asks him if she is not on his priority list. Upset with Karthik, Kanika cuts the call.
Deepa tells Karthik that he should have informed Kanika before coming. She also says that Kanika loves him very much. Karthik talks to Deepa about Kanika and says that his and Kanika’s lifestyles are different. Deepa reminds Karthik that he is going to marry Kanika very soon. Karthik tells Deepa that for two people to be together, their hearts need to be connected.
Bhagyasree speaks to the priest over the phone and asks if Kanika and Karthik’s engagement can be fixed on Maha Shivaratri. The priest says it is possible and mentions that it is an auspicious date. Chitralekha thanks the priest. She then asks the family if they should surprise Karthik, but Kailashnath objects. Chitralekha agrees with him.
Deepa meets the Panchayat secretary and tells him that she has come to get her daughter’s birth certificate. The secretary lists the documents she needs to submit and says that she also needs Bhanu’s signature. He then asks Deepa to leave, and she agrees.
Karthik asks Deepa what happened. Deepa tells him that to obtain Jyoti’s birth certificate, she needs Bhanu’s signature along with several other documents. She says she feels helpless as she is illiterate. Karthik asks Deepa to come with him.
Karthik confronts the Panchayat secretary for misusing his power. He tells the secretary that it is not mandatory to have the father’s signature for a child’s birth certificate. The secretary asks Karthik to leave, saying it is lunchtime. While pushing the closed counter board, Karthik injures his hand. Ignoring the wound, Karthik warns the secretary that if he does not help them, he will record the incident and post it on social media, which could cost him his job. Frightened, the secretary hands over Jyoti’s birth certificate to Deepa and Karthik. Deepa takes Karthik and leaves.
Deepa bandages Karthik’s wound and asks why he went to such lengths. Karthik tells Deepa that he would do anything for Jyoti. Meanwhile, someone is seen secretly taking pictures of Karthik and Deepa together.
Karthik and Deepa get into the car. Karthik receives a video call from Bhagyasree and answers it. Jyoti greets both Karthik and Deepa and says she took the phone from Bhagyasree to call them. Jyoti tells Deepa that she received a star in an essay competition. Karthik asks about the topic, and Jyoti says it was about her mother. She shares what she wrote, and both Karthik and Deepa praise her before ending the call.
Deepa tells Karthik that she would like to see her house before leaving, and Karthik agrees.
At home, the Kothari family and Karthik’s parents talk about Karthik and Kanika being happy together and opening a chain of restaurants. Jyoti asks Kailashnath what they will have in the restaurant. Kailashnath replies that they will have everything she likes. Bhagyasree goes to get milk for Jyoti. Kanika tells Chitralekha that she cannot tolerate this, as Deepa is trying to steal Karthik while they are babysitting her daughter. Chitralekha asks Kanika not to worry and says she has made arrangements so that Deepa will soon be separated from Jyoti.
Karthik and Deepa reach Deepa’s house. Deepa finds it locked and assumes that Mallesh must have locked it. She tells Karthik how much the house means to her. Karthik leaves from there.

Precap: Karthik and Deepa arrive at her village house and find the door locked. Karthik climbs onto the roof to get inside. During this, he accidentally drops a chain that he had found when Deepa saved him as a child, but he does not notice it. He opens the door from the inside. Deepa enters and finds a locket left by Krishna, who had called it Sumitra’s last memento. Meanwhile, Karthik discovers something shocking inside the house.
